Furnish with Love
Furnish with Love (FwL) transforms empty housing into uplifting homes for families coming out of homelessness.

To begin again, this brave mom and her children left an abusive home and everything they had. We were honored that they trusted Furnish with Love to help create a safe, comfortable space they could finally call home.
Since their install, we’ve heard from Mom a couple of times—and they are truly on cloud nine. ❤️
First, she texted, “I just had no words—this is so much more than I envisioned.” The next morning, she followed up: “I woke up pinching myself.”
A very special thank-you to Krisztina Bell of No Vacancy Home Staging for sponsoring a Furnish with Love family project for the sixth year! Your continued generosity has made an incredible difference in the lives of families rebuilding theirs.
We have room for just one more family project sponsor this fiscal year, which ends June 2027.
If you’d like to make this kind of impact on a family’s life, we’d love to hear from you: [email protected]
Did you know that domestic violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women?
Imagine the choice between staying in an abusive relationship or leaving behind your home and nearly everything inside it - family photos, your kids’ artwork, treasured family furniture.
Many of the 80+ families that we’ve helped have faced this head-on, putting as many of their possessions as they can manage into just a few plastic bags.
So when we help families furnish a new home that feels safe and comfortable, we’re helping them heal and move forward.
How can you help? Think about supporting one of the organizations that help survivors of domestic abuse, such as Partnership Against Domestic Violence (Partnership Against Domestic Violence)- or make a purchase from our Amazon list (link in bio) to provide new sheets, kitchen utensils and more to our next family in need.

Mom and her two kids realized a dream when they moved from a shelter to a bungalow where they can let their creativity flow. The years it took to get to this place, with tremendous support from City of Refuge, make it that much sweeter. Now Mom is organizing ways to help other families with kids!
Special thanks to Everly Home Staging for sponsoring this family project. They also contributed most of this charming furniture, provided five talented and fun staff members to be the project volunteers, and provided the delivery truck for the Nesting Day! What a generous gift!

After three years in an extended stay hotel and the loss of her older son, this Mom and her younger kids were overdue for a fresh start. Project sponsor Emily Ellingwood Emily Ellingwood and her wonderful friends provided all the resources needed to turn their newly-leased apartment into a happy space.
Despite everything they have endured, Mom has remained employed, and her two children continue to excel as honor students. Now the kids’ rooms include comfy beds, desks, lamps, and personalized decor – they are ready for school!
The living area is a cozy space for family time, and there’s a dining nook and a balcony they can enjoy when the weather cools. We hope creating a safe, comfortable space will allow them to continue their healing journey.

A very happy Mom celebrated both her new space and her birthday on Nesting Day! This is our first project with The Mom Community where Mom received wonderful support during her pregnancy and the first year of her baby’s life.
Now Mom works at CHOA and has a brand new apartment! She wished for a calm space with pink and pastels for her sweet girl. In the words of Mom, “a home that is fully furnished and decorated would be just the biggest blessing I could ever receive. I would be so eternally grateful to be able to have furniture and to be able to provide my daughter with a living space that feels like home.”
Here’s to a very special day!

This Mom shows determination in every decision she makes. She put herself through school by staying in her grandparent’s living room for four years with her two kids. She is now back on her own and working full-time at the Shepherd Center.
Mom said that having a place of their own “will give me and my kids comfort and joy, and we will be very grateful.” We learned they love pink, black, gold – and leopard! A little bling and a lot of functionality make this apartment a sweet place for this fun and tenacious family of three.
Time to celebrate!
