At Decatur Cooperative Ministry, volunteers are the heart of everything we do. Each week, neighbors like you help families experiencing homelessness and food insecurity move toward stability, dignity, and hope.

We are currently seeking volunteers to provide:
• Shelter support and hospitality
• Provide Meals
• Food pantry and food co-op support
• Special events and seasonal projects

Whether you can help once a month or once a week, your presence matters. You don’t need special skills—just a willing heart and a little time.

URGENT NEED: Dinner Volunteers for Shelter Families

A warm meal means more than you know.

Families staying at our Hagar’s House shelter arrive each evening after long days of work, school, and navigating housing instability. A shared dinner offers comfort, dignity, and a moment to breathe.

• We are urgently seeking individuals, families, faith groups, and community groups willing to:
o Provide or deliver a simple dinner meal
o Serve 5 families in shelter​
o Choose a one-time date or recurring schedule

Meals can be home-cooked or restaurant-purchased—what matters most is the care behind it.
