Schools out! While this much anticipated time means more fun for kids and their families, it can also be a time of greater food insecurity. Check with your local community co-op or food pantry to see if you can help with summer meals!

In addition to the The Lawrenceville Cooperative Ministry, Inc. here are some other programs to check out:
Lunches of Love- Stone Mountain - Group
Neighborhood Cooperative Ministries
Hands Of Christ: Duluth Cooperative Ministry
Golden Harvest Food Bank
MUST Ministries

School is almost out and we need your help! Food donations have been down about 25% over the last few months. When summer starts our client numbers typically go up as we feed more children who no longer have access to free breakfast and lunch at school. Please help by donating our most needed items.

"The first duty of love is to listen" - Paul Tillich

We cannot work to end homelessness until we listen to the stories of those who have lived it. If you are looking for a resource for your church, we highly recommend watching Homeless, a documentary film by Valerio Zanoli, which gives a look into the lives of five unhoused individuals who share their struggles and journey.

Homeless is available to rent or buy on Amazon.com or stream free on Tubi.

It takes a community to end homelessness. The North GA Housing & Homeless Council brings together laity and clergy from every district, alongside at-large members — all united by a shared commitment to serving our neighbors in need. At its core, the Housing & Homeless Council is simply people who share a love of God and a call to service — coming together to ensure that every neighbor has a safe place to call home.

Did you know that in Georgia, only 37 rental homes are affordable and available for every 100 extremely low-income (ELI) households? Many of the households effected by this housing gap are in the labor force, seniors, or have a disability.

According to the National Low Income Housing Coalition, Georgia needs to make 204,000 more homes affordable for extremely low-income households by expanding access to rental assistance and building deeply affordable rental homes.

How can your church be a part of creating a future where everyone has a safe and affordable place to call home?

Neighborhood pantries are slowing down food distributions as demand outpaces supply 04/13/2026

An important read and a reality we hear more and more about at the Housing and Homeless Council.

"Georgia’s major food banks say they’re being stretched thin by demand that is outpacing supply. That’s trickling down to the local food pantries — run out of churches and community centers — that can be lifelines for people experiencing food insecurity."

Neighborhood pantries are slowing down food distributions as demand outpaces supply These pantries rely on supply from donors and large area food banks.
