Shadow II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Shadow II! I am a handsome 8.5 year old brindle boy that is an owner surrender due to one of my owner's passing away and due to the health and moving of my other owner, I am needing to find a forever family! I am described as friendly, active, protective, playful, and affectionate! I am very protective of my home and will bark at people but when they come inside I want to shower them with all the affection! I currently live with another boxer and we**ie dog and do fine with them. It is uncertain if I am friendly with other dogs beside them. I have lived with 2 cats before their passing and I did fine with them. There are no kids in my home but my owner's grandkids and friend's children come to visit and I enjoy them! I'm house trained, crate trained, and at night I sleep inside. If the humans must be away, I am fine being left alone and happy to see them when they return! When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/ gates! Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, playing with stuffed dog animals, sleeping, playing in the yard, attention, laying in the humans' lap, sleeping on my back with my legs in the air, and being goofy! BOXER SPOTLIGHT: EBBA

Hi! My name is Ebba! I am a beautiful 8 year old flashy fawn lady! No information is known about my history but I'm looking forward to my forever family now! I am energetic when I am first let out of my crate, but settle quickly. I am house trained, crate trained, and leash trained! I enjoy my evening walks and have been learning house rules and manners while settling nicely into daily routines. My foster home does not have kids so a proper introduction would be needed. I happily follow my foster mom around the house and am a world champion snuggler! I am an avid squirrel chaser and would chase them up the tree if I could, so I need to live in a cat free and small animal free home. Because I have a high prey drive with the squirrels, my foster mom doesn't leave me in the backyard unattended. I can be a bit bossy and protective so it would be best for me if I was the only dog in the home or paired with a passive male. If you are looking for a well mannered, snuggly lady, here I am! BOXER SPOTLIGHT: NOVA II

Nova II is an owner surrender looking for a new home.

Hi! My name is Nova II! I am a handsome 10 year old white boxer boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner's health issues and other dogs in the home not getting along with me. I am described as friendly, shy, playful, affectionate, and nervous! I do have some arthritis and a mass on my kidney, but don't let that shy you away! I am a proud member of the rescue's Silver Heart program so be sure and ask about it because there are many perks for my adoptive family! I currently live with an English bulldog but it is no longer getting along with me. I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. There are no children in my home but I have had extended exposure to my owner's 5 year old nephew and do great with him! I am house trained but will need assistance learning crate training manners in my forever home if it is required. At night I sleep on a dog bed on the floor and when the humans are away and I am left alone, I have separation anxiety because I want to be with them. When outside I do not attempt to jump fences/gates but I am curious what is under the grass and will dig to find out. Some of my favorite things are my bed, playing, being outside, affection, and treats! BOXER SPOTLIGHT: CHERRY COLA

Hi! My name is Cherry Cola! I am a beautiful 2 year old 'shmedium' sized flashy sealed brindle girl that is super sweet with a unique anatomy! It was found that I do have some left hip degeneration, but also that I interestingly have an extra spine vertebra! I have an awkward gate and my hips do splay out on slick flooring but easy management consists of daily joint supplement and a once or twice per day pain/inflammation medication. But no worries because I am a great girl that doesn't let it slow me down! Now back to all of my greatness! I am a high energy girl that loves to run in the backyard with the resident dogs. I love toys, especially ones for me to chew on. If given the chance, I will sneak a shoe occasionally to play with. I am house trained, crate trained, and walking on leash is an adventure due to me still being a puppy but my foster mom is confident I'll learn it in no time! I use toys to help navigate big emotions. I will lay in an open crate but need some coaxing to go in when the humans leave. I am a smart girl that is eager to learn and easily corrected! I am very social, love the resident dogs, and would prefer a home with other dogs to help guide me. I live with a teenager kid and have met the neighbor kids. I will try to jump on kids but mean no harm and am easily correctable! I live with two resident dogs and adore both of them! I play hard with the more playful dog, respect their space, share toys, and take treats around them without any guarding! My ideal home to help me best navigate my hip challenges would be one that is carpeted or has many rugs, no stairs, older or no kids, and doesn't expect me to go on long walks. 🐾 Cherry Cola is a 2 year old sealed brindle girl that was pulled from a shelter in south Texas mid 2026. She was lame in her back legs and the shelter wanted to make sure she could get the vetting she needed by getting to a rescue versus being adopted straight from the shelter.
She came into care and went to a foster home and went in to see one of our vetting partners. After some diagnostics, it was determined that she does have some degeneration in her left hip and will need FHO surgery at some point later in her life, but for now, it is not needed and would actually shorten her life. We also found out that she has an extra spinal vertebrae, it does not affect anything, but was just an interesting extra observation on the x-rays!
She gets around just fine and loves to play with the dogs in her foster home. She also takes short walks daily to build up her muscles. She takes a daily joint supplement and can take an anti-inflammatory when she has been overly active if she is acting like she is stiff or moving a little slow. Her gait is a little different and her legs can splay a little bit on slick surfaces, but other than that, you would never know she was different than any other dog!

🐾 Our biggest cost by far is vetting. The total vetting costs for DFWBR/ABR/LSBR was just over $158,000. This gives you an idea of just how much vetting costs us yearly.
We get anywhere between 10 and 30% discounts depending on the vetting partner in DFW. Even with this, we are seeing a 15-20% increase across the board in 2026 for our basic vetting: consisting of vaccinations, heartworm tests, and spay / neuters. Orthopedic surgeries, while not that common, are also seeing approximately 30% increases this year.
Even though we raised our adoption fees in October 2025, they still don't cover our expenses and fundraising and donations are incredibly important to allow us continue to be able to help boxers in need.

Vaccinations $20-30 each depending on vet (dhlp, bordatella, rabies)
Heartworm testing - $25-50 depending on the vet
spay / neuter $175-500 depending on the vet

Hi! My name is Brodi III ! I am a handsome 10 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner no longer being able to give me the attention and space I deserve. I am a proud member of the rescue's Silver Heart program so be sure and ask about it because there are many perks for my adoptive family! I am described as friendly, active, protective, playful, and obedient! I do not live with other dogs or children but it is said that I am dog and kid friendly! I have never lived with a cat so it is uncertain if I am feline friendly. I am house trained, crate trained, have had obedience training, and at night I sleep in the living room on the floor. If the humans must be away I am said to do fine when left alone. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, squeaky toys, running, going for walks, getting love and pets, and playing in the water! 🐾 Guss II was an owner surrender that came into our care in early January 2026. He was found as a stray and was heart worm positive. The finder took him to the vet and started heartworm treatment as he was heartworm positive. When he came into care, he had to complete heartworm treatment in order to complete his vetting as he was not neutered, so he spent almost 8 months in his foster home.
He enjoyed his time there and was a very well behaved boy and fit in very well and hung out and relaxed while he had several vet visits. He had 30 days of doxy, 2 immiticide shots 60 days apart with overnight stays at the vet. He developed a UTI a couple months later that had to be treated, then finally in July had a negative heartworm test and was able to be neutered! He found his forever home at the end of July and is living a great life with his new family!
Guss II's vet records to date have been $1,220.00 plus food and heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention and other meds.
