Did you know that you can see all the Goodness that is Community First! Village by taking a tour with us? We offer in-person tours to the public on Wednesdays, Fridays and some Saturdays from 10:30am to 12:00pm. Please note that our tour sizes are limited, so be sure to schedule in advance. There are many different ways for men and women living in Community First! Village to get involved and make a dignified income in the Village. One of the most common ways for our neighbors to get involved is by working with our Genesis Gardens team! With three different gardens spread across our current property, there are endless ways for our neighbors to put their green thumb to work. All year long, our team grows many different kinds of fresh produce that are given to neighbors for free at our weekly farmer’s markets.

With the recent cooler weather, we are grateful to have our Gus Bus operating throughout the day! With stops throughout Community First! Village, the Gus Bus allows our neighbors the opportunity to be picked up and dropped off across the property. Plus, it is also a way for our neighbors driving the Gus Bus to earn a dignified income!

Our Art House provides a creative workspace for the talented men and women living in Community First! Village to produce and sell some of their best works. Thanks to your support at our recent Community First! Village of Lights & Holiday Market, our neighbor artists earned nearly $70,000 in dignified income! Your purchases directly support our formerly homeless neighbors and help them to rediscover their God-given talents.

As we enter the new year, one of the best ways to learn about the mission of Mobile Loaves & Fishes is by serving with us at Community First! Village. As we close out the holiday season, many of us surrounded by our loved ones, we are reminded of the blessing it is to be fully and wholly known and loved.

As we wrap up 2024 and continue in our efforts to bring more of our homeless neighbors home for the holidays, we are filled with gratitude for what you've helped us accomplish this year.

In 2024, we:
- Lifted up more than 100 individuals experiencing homelessness into their forever home in Community First! Village.
- Began vertical construction of tiny homes on the Hog Eye Road expansion of Community First! Village. This accomplishment helps us stay on track with our goal to move friends off the streets and into our expansion property beginning in the mid-2025 timeframe.
- Hosted an average of 30 events and activities each week in our Living Room building in the Village. The Living Room is a community gathering spot for our neighbors where they can enjoy time with friends, experience holiday activities and access services with our on-site partners.
- Drove our neighbors to and from more than 13,400 medical appointments with our medical transport van, allowing neighbors to prioritize their health and have reliable transportation to and from their homes.

Thank you to our friends at Hanes who made it possible for us to fill the Mobile Loaves & Fishes food trucks this holiday with an abundance of new socks to hand out to our friends living on the streets. Over the past decade, Hanes has distributed countless pairs of socks to individuals experiencing homelessness via their annual sock drive. Thank you Hanes!

Last Wednesday was an amazing day at Community First! Village, where nearly 100 enthusiastic volunteers from the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation came together for a Holiday Volunteer Day! They worked on various projects to keep the Village beautiful, harvested winter vegetables, hosted a holiday gathering for our neighbors and helped us prepare for our second weekend of Village of Lights.

We are so grateful for our ongoing partnership with the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation. Their $36 million in matching support is helping our expansion of Community First! Village as we build nearly 1400 more homes for our friends who are coming out of chronic homelessness.
