Every year, the Texas 4000 for Cancer cyclists stop at Brent's Place as part of their 70-day ride across America. During this 4000-mile journey, they raise money for cancer research and cancer support services, like Brent's Place.

We were honored to host a small group of this year's riders on their way home to Texas. Riders had a chance to learn more about our mission, enjoy some donuts, and take a tour of our pediatric campus. Thanks for stopping by, Texas 4000, and for all you do to fight cancer, one mile at a time.
Picked up this on 10:00 News in Anchorage.
Our rider, Cst. Dhaliwal, met up with as they passed through Houston last week. It was great to meet another group of dedicated to raising money in support research.

Ochsner Hospital For Children. The Piggy Bank Fund supports patients and families by providing transportation, lodging, food and more.

Riders met with Ochsner physicians to learn how Ochsner is bringing cancer breakthroughs to our region today, and the critical importance of research, wellness, and supportive care.

The group met with Craig Lotterman, MD, section head of pediatric oncology; Brian Moore, MD, medical director of the Ochsner Cancer Institute; Marc Matrana, MD, medical director of the Precision Cancer Therapies program, Leonardo Seoane, MD, chief academic officer and senior vice president at Ochsner Health; and Elizabeth Lapeyre, MD, medical director of women's wellness and survivorship center and integrative oncology.

The riders took off on the levee Tuesday morning in front of the Gayle and Tom Benson Cancer Institute. The group will continue riding and raising awareness for cancer until they arrive in Anchorage, Alaska on August 12th. Thank you Texas 4000 and Ozarks Route riders for your continued support of our Ochsner patients!
