A relaxing bubble bath with a book or Netflix is my go to self-care option. I find the peace and warmth so relaxing and I can escape my busy mind for an hour or two. It's self-care Sunday so try to squeeze something into your day to help take care of you.

A new year is a good opportunity for a fresh start and for letting go of anything that no longer works for you: thoughts, relationships, places, jobs, furniture, hobbies, things. It's a great time to reflect, declutter & release to make room for what you do want. What will you let go of?


Rest, Relax & Recuperate
After a wonderful, but busy, 3 weeks of having my mum visit, an emotional trip to the airport to see her fly back to the UK and then the house cleaning and NYE party set up, I was exhausted and found myself in need of switching off from the social scene, so yesterday I read, walked by the beach and soaked in a bubble bath. I needed to take a day mainly to myself to recharge. If you are an introvert, have SPD or have found December overwhelming, make sure you take time this week to breathe, rest and energise after a busy month.

Happy Boxing Day! More like Happy Beach Day here in New Zealand. Boxing Day was always about sharing leftovers, so if you have excess food that you can't possibly eat and you're wondering what to do with it all, try one of these ideas:
- use the ingredients for another dish - pie, soup, BBQ kebabs, stock, cake (use your carrots not sprouts!)
- share food with your neighbours,
- donate any packaged or tinned food you no longer want to a food bank or charity,
- freeze it for a later date.

Christmas Eve is my favourite day of the year! I love the excitement, the merriness, the music, the family time and the hope. I know it isn't the same for everyone though so if this year you are not loving the idea of the holidays, it's time to make some changes and do some work so that 2024 will be the Christmas you enjoy.


It's Self-care Sunday! I'm not used to a warm and sunny December yet, so here's a bit of nostalgia from me today. I'm dreaming of a snowy Christmas.
I hope that whatever your belief, today you are having some relaxing time either with family or some time to yourself.
If you're entertaining and finding it overwhelming, discover something key 'you've forgotten' and go for a walk past the local shop. 20 minutes of space to rebalance and take some deep breaths will be so beneficial.
This time of the year can be so triggering for some, so if you are struggling with your mental health, don't suffer. Seek out help. Wherever you are in the world, call for help from friends, family, an online/telephone service, or health professionals. What are your self-care plans for today?

Moving to live in New Zealand classes me as a migrant and today is International Migrant Day so today I will celebrate the opportunity I had to live my dream of living in a different country. I was one of the lucky migrants, one who can go back to my home country and carry on with my life if I want to. So many people around the world are forced to migrate away from their home to provide financial support to their family, or because of war or discrimination. One of my favourite aspects of being a migrant is meeting so many new people from different cultures and backgrounds and hearing their stories, sharing what they love about the country they left behind and what new opportunities and dreams they have now. What are your dreams and what do you need to do to achieve them?
