This little cutie came up with this on his own to share with other kids to keep them moving safely on their own. Kids need to practice social distancing too!

Parents, we want to help keep your kids moving during our closure to help prevent the spread of SARS-coV-2. Please let us know if you would like to be provided with fun kid friendly at home workouts or interested in coach led scheduled WODs online.

Thank you for your patience and understanding in these unprecedented times.

We don’t literally have to sit on our couch! But in these trying times our CrossFit community can help control the factors which we can still impact. Let’s not be a part of the problem which is the impending and potentially rapid spread of the novel SARS-coV-2 virus in Canada!
We need to be smart and limit our interactions! Social distancing is most definitely key to reducing the infection rates and not overwhelming our health care system. Since this virus presents quite uniquely such as asymptomatic cases even if you feel fine you could be a carrier.
CrossFit Maple Ridge will be closed until further notice as it is all of our social responsibility to help protect those most vulnerable.

During this temporary closure a few things will happen:
1. EQUIPENT LENDING: Schedule a time with Luke or I to come get any equipment you need for at home workouts! We are available all day Tuesday for this (at variable times of course to limit interactions). Or we are happy to arrange drop offs.
2. DAILY WODS: We are going to work on lots of body weight movements and building work capacity, form, technique and mobility will also be a focus. There will be WOD options with no equipment required.
LIVE WORKOUTS: We will set up some Live Instagram Workouts that we can hopefully do at set times everyday. I would love to do morning, afternoon and evening! This will probably be the only time you’ll ever see your coaches post videos of themselves working out
3. RUNNING: We can organize some small groups to go for runs. Being outside in the fresh air is a good thing! Our trees are a natural disinfectant!
4. FAMILY TIME: Spend some time with your family and get some spring cleaning done! You will feel great!
5. NUTRITION: Lets do a 6 week nutrition challenge and focus on staying healthy! We have a great community and can all still support each other even if we can’t be together right now.
6. COMMUNITY: Let’s keep others in mind, as we’re all in this together, especially the elderly and keep ideas flowing to potentially do grocery runs etc. for our most vulnerable.
7. MEMBERS: If you have further questions, comments or insight please let us know!

CROSSFIT KIDS IS CANCELLED TONIGHT so our coach can avoid unsafe commuting and stay safe!

Sorry for any inconvenience....

On another note, building a snowman is a great workout or even better get your kids to shovel your driveway!!

This is also how we focus changing up our programming...to better equip our athletes for their long-term future! Sport specializing too early may leave kids more susceptible to injury down the road.
