What do I eat after a workout? 
 
Well, to keep it simple
PROTEIN & CARBS

For example a protein shake and a banana! 🍌
 
Now here is the science behind this 

Protein: 
During your workout, your muscles use glucose (usable energy), and glycogen (stored energy) for energy. Eventually your blood glucose and glycogen levels get so low that intense exercise can’t continue.  
At this point cortisol (the stress hormone) is produced. This can eat up muscle tissue.. 
YOUR POST WORKOUT SHAKE prevents this from happening. This protein then allows insulin to be produced = GAINS !! 

Carbs: 
A simple carbs (fast digesting) is crucial post workout. This starts the entire recovering and muscle growth process. Your body is severely depleted of glycogen and glucose following a workout and needs that fuel !

Hello everyone! My name is Andraea, and I am a personal trainer at Anytime Fitness Maple Ridge!
Here’s a little bit about me…

I have background in health science. I received my bachelor of science in nursing in 2016, and worked as a registered nurse for 6 years. 

Growing up playing competitive soccer, I always had the desire to train and compete. This lead me to further explore weight training and body building in my early 20’s. I competed for four years, qualifying for nationals in 2015. 🏋️‍♀️

My passion for helping people has evolved as I now pursue personal training full time, focusing primarily on health promotion and disease prevention. 🍏🍎

Finally it’s arrived “Hack Squat” 🥳😍 we placed the order back in July but finally it’s here 🥳🥳🥳
There’s another leg machine coming on Thursday/Friday? We will keep it as a surprise until it’s here 🤫 we believe no one in town has that machine - it helps with the posture as well - stay tuned 😉

We are very optimistic about the current COVID situation and hopeful that the provincial health officer sticks to her original re-open date of Jan 18th.

Hi AF Family, as you may have heard we have been mandated to close once again 😢

The closure is in effect tomorrow at 11:59pm through to January 18th.
We are sorry to do this as we know how important fitness is to your physical and mental health.

Due to the short notice in closure, we are asking for your support and would like to keep the billing on as normal. Any payments that are made during this time will be credited at the end of your agreement (not more than 2-bi weekly payments as we are closing for 26 days). If for whatever reason you are unable to support us during this time, we can freeze your billing until the club re-opens in January.

We are doing our part and keeping our employees on the payroll 💜
