It's hard for some to understand how much my body craves this.. not only because it's February and 2 degrees outside..but it's been a couple weeks and I really craved the lake this morning and I all can say 6 minutes in a lake at 5 degrees does the body good, my mind needed it, a sense of calmness after 2 minutes sets in, I breath the fresh air, look around at the snow capped mtns and feel the healing of my soul...And I think this is my church

It’s been 2 years today. Why am I so emotional over this looking back at these pictures, because I spent 4 years of training, missing out on family time to get to my first attempt in 2017 I DNF do to mechanical bike issues, I was devastated, but I came back stronger, and more determined It was one of the hardest days, one of the happiest days, the most painful days, it took 16 hours 46 min and 5 seconds to swim 3.8k, ride 180k and run 42.2k,the time allowed was 17 hours
I did it... the training paid off, and I have to say my support group got me to the finish line , I will always be so grateful, the saying “the comeback is sweeter the setback”is true, the saying “she believed she could so she did”is true, the saying “Anything is possible” is most true
Let me add, for those that are missing out on the 2020 race season do to covid, this is your setback , dont stop training, train harder, set your goals higher, be more determined

Some call me crazy 😜, but I call it peaceful 🙏
I feel the healing happening as a sink into the lake
I've struggled with aches and pains all through the years of Ironman training but thought it's part of the game ..no pain no gain, right up to a few months ago
