Oh, the places you'll go...! So many unique art environments in Wisconsin.

Drive down a state highway, back road or side street in rural Wisconsin, and you just may find yourself staring down a 50-foot-tall scrap metal spaceship or a sculpture park filled with hundreds of concrete figurines.

Stay connected, speak out, and show up in 2026 and as we head into the 2027-2029 state budget season. There are no guarantees, and a lot of hard work ahead, but we have the best opportunity in a long time to increase public investment in the arts throughout the state.

Join Anne Katz, Director of Create Wisconsin, the state's community cultural development organization, for a "creative conversation" about advocacy and action for the critically important gubernatorial and legislative candidate season, the state budget process, regional conferences, and the importance of being involved in civic issues from the ground up.

The session will be repeated twice in June 2026:

- Tuesday, June 9, 10-11 am (https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/vOh0pceLT9iXT2KqAKsSVg #/registration)
- Thursday, June 11, 2-3 pm (https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/DgdztFP9RYiQ2mrxbCQp8w #/registration)

Please register in advance using the links above (or see the links in our bio)

You'll get Zoom info and other materials before the meeting.

Create Wisconsin Director Anne Katz was recognized as a 2026 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Wall of Honor inductee, as part of WAMI’s celebration of Women in Music, in an awards ceremony held at the Atwood Music Hall in Madison, WI, on May 17, 2026.

A leading voice for the arts, culture, and creativity in Wisconsin, Anne has dedicated her career to advancing policy, funding, and support systems that strengthen musicians and creative communities in every corner of the state. Through her work with Create Wisconsin and initiatives like Make Music Wisconsin, she continues to create and grow opportunities, elevate voices, and bring people together through music in every corner of Wisconsin. Through her 30+ years as director of Wisconsin’s only independent statewide organization serving, development, and advocating for increased investment and participation in the arts and culture, her impact has been both lasting and far-reaching — helping shape not just today’s music community, but its future.

“The board of Create Wisconsin sends enthusiastic congratulations to Anne and thanks to WAMI for recognizing her leadership and dedication to the arts, culture, and creativity for everyone, everywhere in the state,” said Carolyn Nelson-Kavajecz, President of the Board of Create Wisconsin. “Wisconsin is lucky to have Anne leading the way in arts and creative economy advocacy, service, and development for everyone, everywhere in the state.”
