Congratulations to these incredible EMS Partners! 🚑❤️
Please join us in congratulating McFarland Fire and Rescue, Deer-Grove EMS, Monona Fire Dept & EMS, Oregon Area Fire/EMS District, and DeForest Windsor Fire & EMS on being recognized by the American Heart Association with Mission: Lifeline EMS Gold Achievement Awards.
These five agencies are among just 18 departments statewide to receive this honor, recognizing their commitment to delivering rapid, high-quality, evidence-based care for people experiencing cardiac arrest, heart attack, and stroke.
When a medical emergency happens, every second counts. The Mission: Lifeline EMS program focuses on improving care from the moment 911 is called, through EMS response and transport, and into hospital treatment. This award specifically recognizes the exceptional care these EMS professionals provide on scene, helping ensure patients receive the right treatment as quickly as possible.
Their dedication to following national standards and continuously improving patient care helps save lives and gives patients the best possible chance for recovery when facing some of the most time-sensitive medical emergencies.
Thank you to the paramedics, EMTs, firefighters, and support staff of these outstanding agencies for your commitment to excellence and to the communities you serve every day. 👏🚒🚑

Congratulations to Craig F. and Drew H., clinical lab scientists at SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital - Madison, on receiving a BEE Award!

“Without Craig and Drew and their hard work, awesome communication, overall knowledge, and kindness for others, this could have been a much more stressful situation,” she said. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart. You guys are so appreciated.”

☀️ Your skin works hard to protect you every day, so don’t forget to protect it, too!
✅ Wear a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher every day
✅ Add extra protection with a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses and UPF clothing
✅ Seek shade and limit direct sun exposure during peak hours (10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
✅ Check your skin monthly for new or changing spots using the ABCDEs of melanoma:
Asymmetry,
Border irregularity,
Color variation,
Diameter larger than 6 mm and
Evolving changes
✅ If something doesn’t look right, get it checked sooner rather than later
When in doubt, check it out. Early detection matters! 💙

Rain, snow, or sunshine, Vana Steffen has been showing up for her neighbors for more than 30 years as an SSM Health Meals on Wheels volunteer.
What keeps her coming back? The people.
“The approximate two hours in a day as a delivery person could mean a great deal to the individuals served,” Vana says.
Every meal delivery brings nourishment, reassurance, and human connection to someone who may otherwise spend the day alone. Volunteers like Vana are the heart of our program.
Want to make a difference in your community? We’re always looking for volunteers, including individuals, families, community groups, and workplace teams.
