The vision of the Decatur Public Library is to be the best small library in Texas, to provide exemplary customer service in order to improve customer satisfaction, to increase circulation, and to make the Decatur Public Library the heart of Decatur. The Decatur Public Library has been awarded The Library Journal/Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation award for runner up as the Best Small Library in America, 2012. Additionally, we have won State Awards for Excellence in Library Services in 2006, 2007, and 2009.
