Our crews look forward to running our rest stop fpr Raquel's Wings for Life bike rally every year! This year was no exception. Thank you to everyone who pitched in to help, including the EMS students from Weatherford College, and all of the participants who rode their hearts out to raise money and bring awareness to Raquel's mission! We can't wait to see what next year has in store for us 🚲🏁🚁

I wanted to take a moment to clarify some social media posts that have caused quite a stir and to reassure everyone that supports us.

The post from WAND although not entirely inaccurate, is slightly misleading. It is true that the Decatur, Illinois Air Evac base did suspend operations, however this has NO impact on Lifeteam 68 in Decatur, Texas.

We want to reassure our community that Lifeteam 68 is not closing. We remain fully operational and committed to providing the same high level of service our community depends on every day. Our mission continues unchanged, and we will continue serving at full capacity with the dedicated professionals and resources needed to meet your needs.

We are so excited to serve our community by setting up a rest station for Raquel's Wings for Life bike rally tomorrow! It is always a blast to cheer for the participants and help them cool off with snow cones and snacks before they finish up their race 🏁 🚲🚁

Our newest edition to the team, Pilot Chris, has officially completed his first patient flight with AE68! Nice job flying safely and efficiently from the scene in Wise County to Texas Health Harris. We are so happy to have you on our team!🚁

It's football season y'all! 🏉 Good luck tonight Decatur Eagles! We hope flying the ball around town and landing on the 50 yard line to deliver it to y'all brings all the town spirit you need to take down the Denison Yellow Jackets tonight! Our crew got an extra special treat when they stopped by the airport for fuel as well. Thank you to the Sky Crane Brenda and her crew for helping us get some awesome shots as the crew returned to base.

Have you ever wondered what our crews do when we are not needed on a call? TRAINING! Our crews understand that practice makes perfect and the only way to stay up to date on current best practices is to push ourselves and our teammates. Scenarios and table top discussions happen all the time at our base and we seek out addition training sessions with local EMS and hospitals to help learn new information and reinforce information and skills that we may not use every day. Thank you to all of our friends that invite, include and reach out to us with all of the educational opportunities! Big shout out to Medical City Decatur for allowing us to join in on their training this morning, Wise County EMS & Rescue for including us in their ECMO and PE thrombectomy education last week, and Texas Health for all of the invitations, including an OB training session coming up soon! We truly appreciate all of our local partners ❤️

Yesterday was flight paramedic Nate's first day at AE68 on flight status. Early this morning he got his first patient flight and earned his wings with his partner Jennifer Ansley and pilot Jimmy Payton, on his Birthday! Welcome to the family Nate, and Happy Birthday! 🎂🚁
