Brothers for Life 5k The Brothers for Life 5k is on Saturday August 8, 2026. It includes the following events: 5k Run, 5k Ruck, and 1 Mile Fun Run / Walk.

Yesterday afternoon, DFR crews were called upon for mutual aid to our neighbors in Priceville. An individual had fallen off a ladder while working on top of a roof and sustained a severe leg injury. The height, along with the building's layout, called for a series of complex rope rescue techniques to secure the patient and get them off the roof. The crews did an absolutely fantastic job in every aspect of this rescue. Great job to all involved, and wishing the patient a speedy recovery!!

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Chris’s family and friends. He was an amazing individual and will be deeply missed!!!

The City of Decatur is heartbroken by the loss of Chris Seal, a longtime employee of our Parks and Recreation Department.

Chris faithfully served the City of Decatur and its residents for 21 years. He was a valued member of our City family, and his loss will be deeply felt throughout our organization.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Chris’ family, friends, coworkers, and all who knew him. We ask our community to keep them in your prayers and respect their privacy during this difficult time.
