Morgan County 911 hosted a Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leaders event at the 911 center south of Decatur on Wednesday afternoon. The Chamber group learned that Morgan 911 fielded a total of 170,107 calls in 2025, including 110,944 calls for law enforcement. The group were given a tour of the facility by 911 Director Jeanie Pharis.

The Morgan County Emergency Management Agency hosted the quarterly meeting of the North Alabama Health Care Coalition at the Morgan County Courthouse on Wednesday morning. NAHCC Coordinator Kimberly Smith conducted the business meeting while updating members of training sessions, committee groups and membership activities. The organization has a softball tournament and golf tournament planned for September 11 and 19, respectively, in Albertville for First Responders Behavioral Healthcare marking the 25th anniversary of the 9'/11 attacks. Morgan County School Superintendent Tracie Turrentine presented the State of the Schools address followed by the New Teacher Academy at the system’s Rural Development Park in Hartselle on Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The Alabama Credit Union sponsored the breakfast for the more than 200 attendees.

Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce President & CEO Crystal Brown was honored at a retirement reception at the Banksy Event Venue in Decatur on Friday morning. Morgan County Commission Chairman Ray Long spoke to the gathering, thanking Brown for everything she has done for Morgan County during her 14-year tenure at the helm of the Chamber.
