DeKalb County hosts amnesty day to combat illegal dumping Another amnesty day will be held on March 28, from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.

If you missed us last weekend, then join us this weekend March 28th for another successful DeKalb Beautification Scrap Tire Amnesty Day event from 8am-2pm located at the DeKalb County Tax Commissioner’s Office 4380 Memorial Drive | Decatur, GA 30032. We will accept cars, SUV and truck tires.

President's Day
In observance of Presidents Day, the DeKalb Beautification Unit will be closed on Monday, February 16, 2026, and will resume services on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Additionally, the DeKalb Sanitation Division’s residential collection schedule will operate on a one-day delay for all customers.

The DeKalb County Planning & Sustainability Department is updating its zoning ordinance for the first time in a decade and its sign ordinance for the first time in 20 years to ensure the ordinances support the needs and priorities of the community.

This update aims to better align the Zoning Ordinance with the 2050 Unified Plan and existing development patterns, reflecting the values of DeKalb County residents and businesses. The project will take place over the next two years, with adoption targeted by the end of 2027. Opportunities for community input are integrated throughout the planning process and will be available through both in-person and online engagement.

The DeKalb County Beautification Unit was proud to ensure the pilgrimage route was clean and welcoming, helping create a safe and respectful environment for this significant moment of peace and reflection.
