2015 ESRI SAG Award

The Homeless Census Count typically was performed by carrying paper maps for navigating and locating encampment sites. Also, volunteers carried questionnaires and other papers for data collection. After meeting with Community Development and conducting a needs assessment, the solution was to create a GeoForm that will allow the volunteers to enter point-based and tabular data on an Android or iOS device through a form. It also gave the volunteers the ability to Geotag the location of collected data and attach images or other relevant information to the form while transmitting the information to Operations Dashboard for ArcGIS back to headquarters in real time. It allowed headquarters the ability to monitor activities, events, and track fieldwork.

Project team included:
Araya Araya - GIS Specialist III
Stacy Grear - Director of GIS
Lynn Santure - GIS Technical Coordinator
