Welcome June!🌿🌸🍃

“June” by

Every so often I’m convinced I tell the world too much. Hold my heart on my sleeve, cough out my secrets, confess to my pain. I swear to myself I won’t do it again, I’ll be all lock key, a porch with screens, elusive and safe.
Then I talk with a friend who’s all heart, all summer and June - raw and flawed but so complete and I’m reminded of how flowers thrive when they’re open to it all. To the rain and sun, to footsteps and weeds, to the changing of seasons over again. And when someone’s looking for a sign of hope, there they are.
Blooming , despite it all.”🌺

“Today is Saga Dawa Duchen, one of the holiest days of the year, honoring the Buddha’s birth, enlightenment, and passing. Actions performed on this day are said to be multiplied by 100 million times.
The point of the teaching is not really mathematical. Rather, it encourages practitioners to pay special attention to their intentions and actions. On this day many Buddhists make an extra effort to:
~Practice generosity
~Refrain from harming living beings
~Meditate
~Recite prayers and mantras
~Make offerings.
~Cultivate kindness and compassion

As Ani Pema Chödrön often reminds us, what matters most is the quality of the heart. A small act of genuine kindness—listening to someone who is grieving, feeding an animal, offering help to a stranger, or dedicating merit to others—can be profound.
More importantly, it is a day to remember that every action, no matter how small, has consequences and can contribute to the well-being of the world.”☸️

“HAPPY FULL BLUE MOON”🌕💙✨

There is a beautiful, rare shift happening in the cosmos as we approach the end of the month.
On Sunday, May 31st, we welcome a sacred Blue Moon, the second Full Moon to grace our skies in May.
In the spiritual realm, a Blue Moon acts as a powerful cosmic amplifier, offering us a rare “extra” gateway for deep soul alignment, heightened intuition, and the release of what no longer serves us.
While the physical appearance remains a familiar, brilliant silver, the energetic frequency of this night is anything but ordinary. It is a divine invitation to pause, honor how much you’ve grown this month, and step boldly into the rare blessings waiting for you.

“Sitting quietly, doing nothing;
Spring comes, and the grass grows by itself.” ~ Matsuo Bashō

After I finished the last week of my 200hr. Prajna training with Tias Little in Santa Fe,
I spent time at the Upaya Zen center meditating with the monks who lived and worked there. One of the monks, named Mamu, offered to do a card reading to give me clarity on a meditation in which I had visualized opening a sacred space for yoga.
After the reading she said “You’re going to bring people together.” The session confirmed my premonition, but didn’t offer much in the way of “when and where.” I was still left with those questions. Mamu, seeing my uncertainty, sweetly wrote on a piece of paper, (which I still have,) “Grass grows by itself.”

This simple phrase by the 17th-century Japanese Haiku master contradicts
our normal way of thinking. We are wired to resolutely “make things happen.”
Bashō’s short aphorism encourages us to let go of striving, for striving for effortlessness can push it further away. Our practice then becomes letting go and just trusting that our grass is growing.💚

“There is challenging energy tied to the May 16th Ta**us New Moon due to the presence of Algol, one of the most notorious but perhaps misunderstood stars in astrology.

Algol represents suffering but also the transformation that blossoms from it. Algol helps us to take our fears into something we can confront and stand up to. What is on the other side of your fears? Algol encourages this question.

While Algol does provide a slight heaviness, there are supportive beams flowing under this New Moon, making it a good time to focus on stability, security, finances, and longevity. What do you wish to nurture? It’s time to take action. Use this fresh start to trust the unknown, set clear goals, and turn your spiritual visions into real-world results.“

“You must hold the balance by the intelligence of the body, by instinct or the sense of equilibrium and not by strength. When you keep the balance by strength, it is physical action, when you keep it by the intelligence of the body, it is relaxation in action”~ BKS Iyengar

In the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, he recommends bringing “Sthira and Sukha” (2.46) a Sanskrit phrase refers to finding balance between steadiness/strength (Sthira) and ease/comfort (Sukha) to yoga postures.
When we find balance between effort and ease, there’s a merging with the infinite.
