Decatur Heritage Christian Academy

🦅 Mrs. Jeana Penrod will be teaching STEM this coming year in the Lower and Middle School grades. Mrs. Penrod earned her Bachelors in Elementary Education from Judson College and her Masters in Education from the University of Alabama – Birmingham. She comes to DHCA having served 31 years in education in South Carolina and Alabama. For 27 of those years she served at Crestline Elementary School It’s wonderful to welcome Mrs. Penrod to the DHCA teaching community!

🦅 Mrs. Leah Long will be teaching 1st Grade in 26-27. Mrs. Long has a Bachelors in Education from Auburn University at Montgomery. Her most recent position was as a Special Education paraprofessional in the Guntersville City School system. Additionally, Mrs. Long comes with past elementary school teaching experience at both Marshall Christian Academy and Trinity Presbyterian School. DHCA is blessed to have Mrs. Long join our teaching community. Welcome to Decatur Heritage!

🦅 Decatur Heritage was recognized as one of 98 schools in Alabama to receive the 25-26 Sportsmanship Status. This designation recognizes our students and coaches completed the 2025-26 school year with no sportsmanship-related fines or ejections. Congratulations to DHCA Athletics!

🦅🎾 Murphy Founds and the North team had a strong showing during All-Star Sports week in Montgomery! Murphy & doubles partner, Maggie Thom (Northridge), defeated their opponents from the South 6-1, 6-1. The North girls won the match 8-1! Murphy was one of 12 students selected across all classifications to be a part of the North All-Stars team.
