Creativity and collaboration are on full display at Calhoun! 🎨

Art Instructor Tara Segars, alongside our talented Fine Arts instructors and staff, is helping breathe new life into two metal sculptures owned by the Decatur-Morgan County Chamber of Commerce. With fresh, vibrant designs, these pieces will soon become colorful additions to our Decatur community!

This project is truly a campus-wide collaboration as before the painting could begin, Eric McConnell, Welding Lab Assistant, carefully prepped each sculpture by grinding and cleaning the metal surfaces to ensure they were ready for their transformation. 🥽

We're proud of Tara, Eric, and our dedicated Fine Arts faculty and staff for sharing their time, talent, and expertise to support our community through public art. We can't wait to see these refreshed sculptures on display throughout Decatur! 💙

Just one year after making Calhoun history as our youngest student ever, 13-year-old Van-Houston McMillion is returning for his second year after earning a 3.5 GPA and Dean's List honors during his freshman year! 🏅

Van Houston has a message to other academically advanced students pursuing opportunities that may seem unconventional: "If you're academically ready and genuinely love to learn, don't let your age hold you back," he said. "Work hard, ask questions, and follow what you're passionate about."

WOW! What an incredible HTEC 2026 Conference at Calhoun! 🎉

After an unforgettable week of innovation, collaboration, and learning, the Gene Haas Foundation presented Calhoun Community College with a $1 million dollar check. The money will be used to support manufacturing education programs and projects.

This transformational investment comes just months after Calhoun proudly dedicated its Gene Haas Advanced Technology Center, recognizing Gene Haas' longstanding commitment to workforce development and technical education.
