Dear Woodmeade Elementary Families,

Welcome to another exciting school year at Woodmeade Elementary School!
We are thrilled to open our doors and welcome both new and returning families. A new school year is like the first episode of a
brand-new season, filled with excitement, possibilities, and unforgettable moments waiting to unfold.

This year's theme, “Growing Big Dreams… One Episode at a Time,” reminds us that some of the greatest stories are created here at Woodmeade, one episode at a time. Just as our favorite classic television shows do, each school day offers new adventures, valuable lessons, laughter, teamwork, and opportunities for growth.

As we begin this season together, you'll recognize a few familiar themes: some, like "All in the Family," emphasize being one big family filled with love and respect. "Good Times" reminds us to celebrate every
success, big or small. "Schoolhouse Rocks" highlights how learning can be fun, engaging, and memorable as we build strong foundations in reading, math, science, and more.

Our dedicated teachers and staff have been hard at work preparing classrooms where students can learn, explore, and thrive. We ask for your partnership in making this school year a successful one by:

- Ensuring your child arrives at school on time each day.
- Encouraging daily reading at home.
- Maintaining open communication with your child's teacher.
- Supporting homework, attendance, and positive behavior.
- Celebrating your child's progress throughout the year.

Need after-school care for your elementary student? Registration is open for the Decatur City Schools Extended Day Program for the 2026–2027 school year!

PROGRAM DETAILS:

Dates: August 10, 2026 – May 21, 2027
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: 2:30 PM – 6:00 PM
