NEW BEST BABIES: Here they are!! Our newest additions to BEST PreK Academy-Decatur, Al! What a wonderful way to start the day - with a hug from the school’s principal, Mrs. Edwards, and some solid fist bumps with Dr. Douglas and Mrs. Hotaling!! Have a great year, Pre-K!

Pre-K is attending half days in groups for a while, so the second group will be here tomorrow!

PROM PROMISE: Decatur City Schools is proud to officially launch Prom Promise, a new initiative designed to ensure that every high school student has the opportunity to attend homecoming or prom feeling confident, beautiful, and celebrated.

Through Prom Promise, any female high school student in need of assistance obtaining a dress for homecoming or prom is invited to “shop” our boutique and borrow a beautiful gown at no cost. Our hope is to remove the financial burden that can sometimes stand in the way of these special milestones so that every student can enjoy these memorable experiences.

This project would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of Something Blue Boutique in Hartselle, which donated an amazing inventory of brand-new gowns to Decatur City Schools. We are especially grateful to Bonnie Weinman and Susie Kimbrell for their kindness, support, and partnership in making this dream a reality.

Also, thank you to Mr. Codi Stumpe from Career Academies of Decatur for installing racks to hang all of our new dresses.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to our wonderful student volunteers who generously gave their time this summer to organize, sort, and prepare the boutique:
