What a great night on the STEAM Engine! We gave away a lot of books, and the Decatur Public Library - Al was able to issue library cards! We hope you will join us next Tuesday at Frances Nungester Elementary School - Decatur, AL. for week 2!

PLEASE REGISTER: Registration for the new school year is underway. Returning students must complete their online registration to enroll for the 2026-2027 school year. Please do not wait until the last minute to complete enrollment. Students cannot begin the school year until registration is completed.

You will need to register as a returning student through InfoSnap Enrollment. Registration requires a Snapcode to access the record. Please check your email inbox for the Snapcode.

REBOOT: Decatur City Schools will close at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, due to a technical issue affecting our phone and computer systems. This additional time will allow our IT Department to perform a system-wide reboot and complete necessary maintenance.

If you’ve had trouble reaching one of our campuses by phone this week, we are aware of the issue, and our team is working diligently to resolve it. Thank you for your patience as we work to restore normal service.

As a reminder, all campuses will be closed on Friday as part of our summer hours schedule. We will reopen on Monday, June 15.

WELCOME: We want to welcome Mr. Charles Pugh to the Austin Junior High School - Decatur City Schools family. Mr. Pugh is the new assistant principal. Mr. Pugh joins principal Regan Carpenter and assistant principal Elizabeth Hastings. He comes to Decatur City Schools from Limestone County, where he's served in a number of administrative capacities. We are excited to have Mr. Pugh join our team and look forward to working with him.

THINKING AHEAD PAYS OFF: Today, Decatur City Schools hosted an incredibly successful Scholarship Portfolio Workshop! Many of our dedicated students and parents filled the room, rolled up their sleeves, and got a head start on the future. A huge thank you to Mary Ann Hotaling for facilitating today's workshop. If you weren't able to attend this one, Mrs. Hotaling will announce more opportunities throughout the upcoming school year.

Due to the ongoing rain, the Launch Into Literacy STEAM Engine Event has been postponed. Please join us on Thursday, June 11th at Oak Park Elementary School for free books, STEAM Activities, and more!
