THE WONDERS OF WEATHER: Our littlest learners had the best time this morning hanging out with ABC 33/40’s very own James Spann!

BEST PreK Academy-Decatur, Al students and teachers got a front-row seat to learn all about the wild world of weather—from how rain clouds form to why storms make so much noise. Mr. Spann kept everyone laughing and engaged!

Check out these sweet photos of learning about weather from the legend himself. Big thanks to James Spann for taking the time to inspire our BEST Pre-K babies!

THANK YOU: Our 21st Century Parent & Student Mental Health Mini Conference was a big hit last night! Thank you to all of our guests and speakers for an incredible night of learning and sharing. Special thanks to keynote speaker DT Shackelford, along with Brandy Strickland with Hospice of the Valley, Dr. Marcy Watkins, Licensed Professional Counselor, and attorney Patrick Caver. All three guest speakers did an amazing job covering topics such as supporting children dealing with grief, anxiety, social media, and the law. We also want to thank Westmeade Baptist Church for providing pizza.

It’s not too late to join us at Career Academies of Decatur for our Mental Health Summit until 7:30pm.

Come grab some pizza, and learn about some tools to help our students mental health!

GREAT MESSAGE: A big thank you to DT Shackelford for speaking with students at Austin Junior High School on Monday and at Decatur Middle School yesterday! He took the time to connect directly with students—even climbing into the bleachers to fist-bump and spread positivity.

DT will also kick off our Mental Health Mini-Conference next Tuesday night at the Career Academies of Decatur. He reminded students to make time for this event and why these topics are so vital for today's youth.

Registration on Tuesday, September 29th, begins at 5:00 p.m., complete with door prizes and refreshments. Please share this post and join us for the 21st Century Parent and Student Mental Health Mini-Conference!
