The invasive chaff flower is beginning to emerge for the year and right now is the best time to dig it up- before seed heads form. Be sure to get the gnarly roots, too. 👿 🌱

Beautiful morning in the park spent cutting back wisteria to open up views of Shoal Creek. Also, spotted some native plants in bloom!

Have you noticed the brown slopes and bottomland in Dearborn Park recently? We’ve had a few neighbors reach out to ask if this is our work. It is not. The has contracted out work with Cascade Springs Forestry and they are targeting invasive plants in the park. This habitat restoration & forest management work will be done in phases and we’re hopeful to have a healthy & balanced ecosystem soon.

This amazing crew cleared wisteria at the park’s trailhead on Sunday. Thanks, volunteers!
