Today, on World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, we stand with survivors and reaffirm our commitment to protecting children worldwide.

Children now account for 38% of all detected human trafficking victims worldwide, and the number of child victims identified has increased by 31% since 2019. Behind every statistic is a child whose safety, freedom, and future have been stolen.

Together, we can raise awareness, support survivors, and equip law enforcement with the tools they need to identify offenders, rescue children, and prevent exploitation and trafficking before it happens.

🚨 When technology and global teamwork come together, children are protected.

In 2025, Child Rescue Coalition helped power five international operational sprints across the U.S., Australia, Germany, Canada, and France, giving law enforcement the intelligence they need to identify child predators and rescue children from abuse.

In just 72 hours during Operation Mariposa:
🔴 562 suspected offenders were identified
🔴 Cross-border investigations were launched immediately
🔴 A 5-year-old child was rescued from ongoing abuse

This is what your support makes possible. Every arrest. Every rescue. Every investigation starts with the right technology in the right hands. Together, we're helping law enforcement move faster, connect cases across borders, and protect children who cannot protect themselves.

Thank you for standing with Child Rescue Coalition. Every donation fuels technology that saves lives. Read more in CRC’s 2025 Annual Report through the link in our bio.

📱 Screen Smart Summer Sunday: TikTok Edition

TikTok is one of the most popular apps among teens, making it important for parents to understand the privacy, messaging, content, and screen time features available to help protect their children online.

While TikTok can be a fun way to watch videos, create content, and explore interests, parents should be aware of a few potential risks:

⚠️ Direct messages or comments from unknown users
⚠️ Public videos that may reveal personal information
⚠️ Content that may not be age-appropriate
⚠️ Pressure to participate in trends or overshare
⚠️ Excessive screen time or late-night scrolling

The good news? TikTok offers several tools that can help families stay safer online:

✅ Private account settings to limit who can view content
✅ Direct message and comment controls
✅ Family Pairing features for parents and teens
✅ Content preferences and Restricted Mode
✅ Screen time management tools

💡 Screen Smart Tip: Ask your child, “Who can see your TikTok videos, and who can message or comment on them?” It’s a simple conversation that can help strengthen their online safety habits.

This summer, take a few minutes to review TikTok’s privacy settings, Family Pairing tools, and screen time controls together.

🚨 Predators don't always hide in dark corners of the internet, they're often on the same apps our children use every day.

Authorities in California have arrested a 22-year-old man accused of using Snapchat to target underage girls. According to investigators, he allegedly befriended 15 and 16-year-old girls on the app before providing them with alcohol and sexually assaulting them. Detectives believe there may be additional victims.

This case is a reminder that online grooming often begins by building trust, creating a false sense of friendship, and gradually manipulating a child.

As parents and caregivers:

📱 Know the apps your children use.

💬 Talk regularly about who they're communicating with.

🔒 Review privacy and safety settings together.

🚩 Remind them they can always come to you if something feels wrong.

🤖 Artificial intelligence is transforming our world but it's also creating new challenges in the fight to protect children.

In its 2025 Data & Insights Report, the Internet Watch Foundation identified 4,586 AI-generated images depicting realistic child sexual abuse, a stark reminder that technology is being exploited in dangerous ways.

AI-generated child sexual abuse material presents a rapidly evolving threat. Offenders can use AI tools to create realistic abusive imagery or can manipulate innocent existing images, adding to the growing volume of content investigators must identify, analyze, and remove.

This is why protecting children today means looking beyond the physical world. Online exploitation, including AI-generated CSAM, online grooming, and sextortion is constantly evolving, requiring law enforcement, technology companies, policymakers, and child protection organizations to evolve with it.

We are deeply grateful to the law enforcement professionals around the world who work tirelessly to identify victims, investigate offenders, and remove child sexual abuse material from circulation. Their work saves lives every day.

Child sexual exploitation knows no borders. It's a global problem that demands global collaboration, continued innovation, and sustained investment in the technology and partnerships needed to protect children.

🌎 Child protection requires a global conversation, and Child Rescue Coalition is proud to be part of it.

Child Rescue Coalition is honored to contribute to the child protection dialogue at the Senate of the Philippines, where our Country Program Manager, Atty. Jewel Dela Cruz, served as one of the invited resource speakers.

The Senate Committee on Women, Children, Family Relations, and Gender Equality convened an inquiry in aid of legislation following the June 22, 2026, shooting incident in Tacloban City. The hearing focused on strengthening child safety measures across gaming platforms, including age verification protocols and safeguards against Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC), online grooming, and other emerging digital threats.

During the hearing, Atty. Jewel emphasized that protecting children online requires a global perspective, a strong public policy and multidisciplinary approach, greater accountability from technology companies, and continued investment in equipping law enforcement with the technology needed to investigate these evolving crimes.

As Atty. Jewel shared:

“We always look at these online safety issues not just from a local perspective but from a global perspective. On the issue of violence, we should adopt a public policy approach, recognizing crime as a systemic societal problem that requires a deliberate, multidisciplinary response—not simply as an act of individual deviance.”

Protecting children in today's digital world requires collaboration across governments, technology companies, law enforcement, and child protection organizations. We are grateful to stand alongside our partners and supporters in advancing legislation that strengthens child protection and creates a safer digital environment for every child.
