Gilian Kandy, Accounts Payable Accountant, is being recognized as the Employee of the Month for June 2026.

Gilian is an amazing team member and an integral part of our Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) staff. Her can-do attitude, amazing talent, dedication, and hard work are what makes her an awesome JFS team member, and we are grateful to have her as part of the JFS team!

Please join me in congratulating Gilian on this well-deserved recognition. We so appreciate all you do for JFS, enjoy the parking space!

Gilian's motivation at work comes from two places: her family and the community we serve. She shows up every day wanting to make her family proud and to set a strong example for her teenage son. Knowing that the work she does directly helps people in our community pushes her to give her best, no matter what the day brings.

Something people might not expect about her is that she's a huge country music fan — both the classics and the newer artists. She grew up learning line dancing, and country music has always been woven into her life in a big way.

What She enjoys most about her job is the impact. Every time a bill crosses her desk — whether it’s helping a family in crisis or making sure our food pantry has what it needs — She feels good knowing that someone will sleep a little easier that night. Being able to support people in such meaningful ways is what makes her work so fulfilling.

Ruth & Norman Rales Jewish Family Services (JFS) was proud to be represented at the National Association of Jewish Chaplains conference, where our President & CEO, Danielle Hartman, served as keynote speaker.

Her address, Sacred Work in the Wilderness: Jewish Chaplains, Community Service, and the Power of Women's Leadership, highlighted the shared purpose of chaplains and human service professionals, and the power of collaboration in strengthening our community.

We also celebrate Rabbi Ed Bernstein, recipient of the Ner Tamid Award for spreading light and hope, and Rabbi Hector Applebaum, honored with the Rabbi Dr. Barry & Anita Kinzbrunner Award for his leadership in spiritual care.

The Feldman Diamond & Adventure Club at the Shirley & Barton Weisman Delray Community Center kicked off the summer season with a Luau Celebration!
Rozz Parker lit up the room with a musical performance that had members dancing and singing.
A delicious lunch from Diamond Kosher Catering wrapped up the perfect afternoon.
We’re grateful for the joy, connection, and community shared at the Weisman Center.

As you stock up on your own hurricane supplies this season, consider picking up a little extra for neighbors who may be struggling. A few additional cans of non‑perishable food or an extra case of water donated to the Jacobson Family Food Pantry can really help families who can’t afford to prepare. Small acts of generosity help our community stay safe and feel supported when the storms come.

Thank you for being part of the solution!
