It’s time for some Saturday night football in Baton Rouge. Expect contra-flow traffic towards the end of the game and additional law enforcement patrols around LSU and Southern. If you’re driving through, give yourself extra time and remember that the roads onto campus usually shut down sometime during the 3rd or 4th quarters.

Main roads affected by contra-flow in the LSU area include:

* some surrounding surface streets

Main roads affected by contra-flow in the Southern University area include:

* Harding Boulevard
* Old Scenic Highway
* Scenic Highway

On September 2, 2026, as part of an investigation, SIU detectives along with SRT and Baton Rouge Police 1st District Officers executed a search warrant of a residence in the 3700 block Sherwood St. During the course of the investigation narcotics and U.S. Currency were sized.

As a result of this investigation multiple arrests were made.

ATTEMPTING TO IDENTIFY - BURGLARY SUSPECTS

Baton Rouge Police detectives are attempting to identify the individuals pictured in the attached photographs.

Investigators believe these individuals are responsible for burglarizing several vehicles in the Tara Subdivision during the early morning hours of August 30, 2026.

Detectives also believe the suspects were armed with fi****ms at the time of the burglaries

On August 19, 2026, as part of an investigation, SIU detectives along with SRT and 1st District Officers, executed a search warrant at a residence in Baton Rouge.

During the course of the investigation, fi****ms and narcotics were seized. As result, Treyvon Hart was arrested for narcotics and fi****ms violations.

-approximately 20 pounds of Ma*****na
-11 d/u of Ritalin
-1/2 d/u of Adderall
-G***k 44 (.22)
-G***k 19 (9mm)
-FN Scar 175 (7.62x51) reported stolen through BRPD

-Illegal Carrying of a Firearm w/CDS
-Illegal Possession of a Stolen Firearm

Hart’s criminal history includes arrests for PWID Schedule I and Violation of Uniform Controlled Dangerous Substances Law (Drug Free Zone).

🚨🚨 ARREST MADE IN FATAL STABBING 🚨🚨

On Tuesday, August 5, 2026, Uniform Patrol Officers responded to 8280 Cypress Ave, relative to a welfare check. A family member reported not hearing from their loved one in a few days. Officers, assisted by property managers, entered the apartment and located 54-year-old Faun Reese, and her live-in-boyfriend Garry Miles incapacitated in bed. Reese was found to have sustained a fatal stab wound and was pronounced deceased on scene by emergency medical personnel. Miles was transported to a local hospital in serious condition and later admitted for a drug overdose.

During the course of the investigation, detectives developed Miles as the suspect in the homicide of Reese. Upon his release from the hospital, Miles was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison for Second Degree Murder and Illegal Use of Weapons.

Miles has been arrested numerous times for violating a protective order to prevent domestic violence in California, but those were misdemeanor offenses and no further details were available.
