📚 Today is the last day to early vote for the June 27 election.

Here’s what you need to know about the Library's Millage Continuation Proposition:
:
✅ LOWER rate of 9.5 mills, 14.4% lower than the rate approved over the last 30 years and projected to include two future rollbacks over the next 10 years

✅ CONTINUATION of the dedicated Library funding voters have approved for decades

✅ DEDICATED funding with 100% of the revenue going directly to the Library and nowhere else

⚠️ If the proposition does not pass, the Library will receive no new revenue. To keep libraries open, cuts would be needed to hours, book and digital collections, Libby, programs, and other services.

This week we installed a mural based on his artwork, Royal March Into the City, at the Scotlandville Branch.

We're getting closer to completing the renovation of the Scotlandville Branch! Yesterday, the mural based on “Royal March Into the City" by local artist and Southern University professor Randell Henry was installed.

The mural welcomes guests into the Black Heritage Room, a dedicated space for special exhibits, displays, and programs celebrating Black art, literature, and culture.
We are honored to feature "Royal March Into the City" at the Scotlandville Branch.

Throughout his career, Professor Henry has inspired and taught art to countless students throughout the region, especially in the Scotlandville community, and we hope this beautiful piece will continue to inspire everyone who visits the library for years to come.

All of our libraries will be closed on Friday in observance of the Juneteenth holiday. Remember, our digital library is open 24/7.
