It might be April, but we're already seeing highs of 88 degrees here in south Louisiana. This year, we decided to get ahead of the heat by partnering with Olympic gold medalist, Alysa Liu! For today only, join us in the plaza of the Main Library to witness a once in a lifetime performance by Alysa. Maintenance has assured us that our fountain turned ice rink will remain solid for the duration of the performance. Probably.

Join us for a very casual crochet meetup on 3/30 at 6:30pm. Bring your own project or practice with the library's crochet supplies. No experience necessary! Just a willingness to craft and yap. Be there or be Granny-square (we're sorry).

Juneteenth is a painful but necessary reminder of the long and difficult journey toward emancipation, and the ongoing struggle for civil rights and equality.

Take today as an opportunity to celebrate African American culture, traditions, and contributions to society.

Capital Area Animal Welfare Society is coming to the library! Spend the afternoon crafting DIY dog toys, with the option of donating them to doggies in need. And, yes... CAAWS will be bringing a few special friends to tell you about fostering and/or adopting through their organization. See you there!
