We can’t believe Nova is still waiting for her forever home! 🏡
Meet Nova — your future adventure buddy and loyal companion!
Smart, affectionate, and full of personality, Nova loves being close to her people. Whether you're out exploring or relaxing at home, she’s happiest when she’s right by your side. She still loves her cuddles and is always ready for the next adventure.
Nova has an adventurous spirit and enjoys car rides, splashing in the water, and even sipping straight from the garden hose. She’s also a fetch enthusiast and will happily chase a ball with endless enthusiasm. Her playful energy and devotion make her a joy to be around.
🌲 Personality & Training
Nova is an intelligent girl who enjoys getting out and about. She has been making great progress on leash using a head halter while working with a dog trainer.
She is still fairly reactive to other dogs and tends to “laser focus” on them when she sees them, so continued training and guidance will help her keep building those skills and confidence.
Because of this, Nova would do best as the only dog in the home, where she can soak up all the love and attention and continue thriving with her person.
🏡 Home Requirements
• Good with dogs: Would do best as an only dog
• Good with cats: Unknown
• Good with children: Older children
• Energy level: Medium — enjoys activity but also loves relaxing with her people
Nova is a devoted companion who forms strong bonds with her humans. Once you meet her, you’ll quickly realize she’s not just a pet — she’s a partner for life, ready to stand by you through every adventure and quiet moment alike.
🩺 Medical Note
Nova requires dental surgery, with the cost shared between the adopter and BARC’s Rescue.
✨ If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate, adventure-loving companion, Nova may be the perfect match for you.

🍜 Meet Ramen! 🍜
Ramen is an absolute sweetheart with a soft, snuggly soul and a serious love of blankets. If you’re looking for a little cuddle buddy to curl up with for hours, this sweet boy may just be your perfect match.
Ramen is currently living with much larger resident dogs and fits right in with them. Despite the size difference, he’s not intimidated in the slightest and enjoys having canine company around. He’s also living with a resident cat and doesn’t pay much attention to her, making him a great candidate for a home with other pets. He is also good with kids, making him a lovely little all-around family companion.
One of Ramen’s favourite things in the world is a good cuddle. He’s a gentle, affectionate boy who is happiest when he’s cozy, comfortable, and close to his people. His crate is another place where he does really well, both when his foster family is away and overnight while he sleeps. Just be sure to stock it with plenty of blankets, because in Ramen’s opinion, there’s no such thing as too many!
Ramen is still learning that the outside world isn’t so scary. Right now, outdoor time can feel a little overwhelming for him, so bathroom breaks take patience and a calm approach while he relaxes enough to do his business. Because of this, his walks are still very short for now, but he’s getting a little braver every day and making steady progress.
He’s also a wonderfully quiet little guy. In fact, his foster family hasn’t heard him make a sound yet, aside from the occasional adorable snore when he’s extra relaxed and cozy.
Ramen is the kind of dog who just wants a safe, loving home, lots of soft blankets, and a human who appreciates the finer things in life, like long snuggles and quiet companionship. If that sounds like your kind of perfect day too, Ramen would love to meet you. ❤️

Meet Babygirl 💗
Babygirl hasn’t had the easiest start to life. After raising her pups, it’s finally her turn to be someone’s baby. This sweet, goofy girl is eager to please, deeply people-oriented, and fully convinced she should be a lap dog—despite her impressive size.
She walks nicely on leash and doesn’t react to other dogs on walks, though she does want to say hello to every human she meets. Babygirl loves finding a sunny patch or a cozy couch for a midday snooze, and she’s a big fan of car rides—especially when she can stick her head out the window and enjoy all the smells.
Babygirl enjoys toys, chasing a ball in the yard, and cuddling with her foster siblings. She plays well with other dogs and is generally gentle, especially with smaller dogs, though she can be a bit goofy with her paws. With dogs her own size, she sometimes plays like a “grizzly bear,” but she’s quickly learning more structured games like tug and chase.
She is fully house trained and crate trained. Babygirl may whine briefly if she feels she’s missing out, but she settles quickly and sleeps soundly through the night in her crate.
Babygirl is very attached to her people and can show some separation anxiety—she may cry or want to watch from the window when someone leaves. With reassurance and consistency, she does settle after a short period, and this is something that often improves as she becomes more secure in her forever home.
She is also very food motivated and smart, already learning cues like sit, down, off, leave it, and come here. Around food, Babygirl does best with clear structure and boundaries. She should be fed and trained separately from other dogs, as she can be protective of food or food-related spaces. With simple management, this has already improved in her foster home.
Overall, Babygirl is a loving, loyal, affectionate girl with a huge heart. She’s ready for a home that will give her patience, consistency, and lots of love—and she’ll return it tenfold.

Meet Teine (aka Waffles)! 🧇💛
Hi! My foster mom calls me Waffles because of my goofy personality and because I’m always finding new ways to make people laugh.
I’m a true people-dog and love being part of whatever my humans are doing. Whether it’s gardening, folding laundry, watching TV, or just moving from room to room, you’ll usually find me right by your side. I love being included and don’t enjoy being left alone for long periods, so I’d do best in a home where someone is around more often than not.
I’m an active, athletic girl who would make a fantastic adventure buddy. Hiking, exploring, running, or just being outside with my people? Count me in. If there’s fun to be had outdoors, I’m ready for it.
Even though I love to get out and do things, I’m surprisingly calm in the house. Once I’ve had enough exercise, I’m happy to relax nearby and am very good at settling down. If my people are relaxing, I’m usually more than content to do the same.
I love playing with other dogs, especially games of chase, and would likely enjoy having a canine friend to romp around with. I do well with cats too! I like to play with younger cats, and I’ve learned that older cats usually prefer a polite sniff and then some personal space.
I’m mostly house trained and continue to improve every day. I’m also crate trained and settle well in my crate when my family is away. Because I’m still a curious young dog, I should be crated when left home alone, as I can be a bit of a counter surfer and may help myself to anything interesting left within reach.
I’m still new to leash walking but learning quickly and making great progress every day. With continued patience and consistency, I’m going to make an excellent walking and adventure companion.
My ideal home would be one that enjoys having a loyal little shadow and sidekick. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be involved in every part of your day, while also being ready for whatever adventure comes next, I just might be your girl.
I’ve got lots of love to give, a goofy personality, and I’m always ready for my next adventure with my people. Could I be the missing piece in your family? 🐾

🐾 Meet Coleslaw! 🐾
This sweet boy may have a few scars, presumably from life on the streets, but Coleslaw is very much a lover, not a fighter. He is an easygoing, affectionate boy who is happy to adjust to whatever his trusted people want to do, as long as he gets plenty of love and cuddles in return.
Coleslaw is still fairly young and absolutely enjoys the chance to run, play, and zoom around when the mood strikes. That said, his favourite thing in the world is definitely cuddling up close and soaking in all the pets and affection he can get.
He is doing well with house training. He has worn belly bands and has had a few accidents with those, which is to be expected, but he has never pooped in the house.
Coleslaw walks well on leash and has shown zero reaction to other dogs across the street. He does notice squirrels, birds, rabbits, and other critters, and his interest tends to depend on how close they are. The closer they get, the more curious he becomes, but even then, his reaction is fairly mild. He may pause and stare and need a little encouragement to keep moving, but he does not pull or bark.
When Coleslaw gets a little too enthusiastic about cuddling and personal space disappears, he settles very nicely in his pen. He has made no attempts to escape and doesn’t fuss — he simply accepts it and relaxes or naps. He also sleeps well in his crate at night. While he doesn’t love going into the crate, he can be convinced with a treat.
This smart boy is already learning quickly. He picked up sit within just a couple of days and is currently working on stay. He has also been learning to wait at the curb before crossing the street and is catching on very quickly.
Coleslaw gets along well with the resident dog in his foster home. He has not yet been tested with cats or children. He may bark a few times at people or dogs passing by the window or fence, but he is not overly vocal and does not carry on once he has alerted you.
He also did well for his bath, even though it definitely wasn’t his favourite activity. He needed a lot of reassurance, and his Bambi-on-ice legs made things a bit slippery, so a rubber mat would definitely be recommended for future spa days.
Coleslaw has shown no concerning behaviour around food or treats in his foster home. He allowed a chicken bone to be gently taken away on a walk without aggression, even though he would have preferred to keep it. He has also done training sessions alongside the resident dog with treats being handed out at the same time, and there has been no aggression or attempts to steal from each other.
He has not tried to chew or damage anything in the home and has recently discovered squeaky toys, which he seems to find pretty delightful. He is slowly learning how to play with toys and balls and is starting to enjoy those simple dog joys.
At the end of the day, Coleslaw is the kind of dog who just wants to be loved. He has shown that he can adapt his energy and routine to fit the lifestyle of his people, whether that’s an acreage or apartment life, as long as he gets affection, security, and a family to call his own.
One thing worth noting is that when Coleslaw feels very scared and trapped with no way to get away, he may try to defend himself. This behaviour was only seen once on intake to rescue, and his foster feels strongly that, now that he has settled in and is learning to trust his environment, it is unlikely to recur. Still, he will do best with adopters who understand the importance of patience, reading his body language, and continuing to build his confidence gently and respectfully. ❤️

🐾 Meet Waldorf (Wally)! 🐾
Personality: Mega affectionate, professional hugger, total sweetheart
Favorite Things: People, yummy treats, and his stuffed owl
About Me
Hi there! My name is Waldorf, but my friends call me Wally. I am a handsome, brindle-coated boy with the biggest heart you will ever find. My foster family says I do not have a single mean bone in my entire body!
I absolutely adore people and I am not shy about showing it. In fact, I am a true professional hugger. If you sit near me, I will lean right in, wrap myself around you, and gently demand all the head scratches and pets you can give.
I am very much still a puppy, which means I have plenty of fun puppy energy to burn! I love to zoom around, stay active, and keep things exciting. When I am not busy hugging my humans or playing, one of my absolute favorite things to do is play with my beloved stuffed owl! I love carrying my special toys around and showing them off.
My Skills
I am an absolute rockstar because I am already completely house-trained! I am also highly food motivated, which means I love to learn new things if there is a tasty treat involved. I already know how to "sit" and how to give "paw" like a perfect gentleman.
I even have a special trick for rainy or muddy days! After we play outside, I am an absolute star at sitting still to get my paws wiped clean before coming back into the house. Because I still have that puppy brain, continuing my training will be a great way to bond with me and keep my mind sharp!
My Perfect Home
I am looking for an active family where I will not be left alone for long periods of time. I just love my humans so much that I always want to be near you! Because I have so much love and energy to share, I would do fantastic in a home with kids aged 5 and up. I would also absolutely love to have a dog buddy in the home to wrestle, chase, and burn off my puppy energy with!
I love going on daily walks to sniff the grass and explore the world. I would make the perfect work-from-home buddy or the ultimate active family sidekick. If you are looking for a fun, loyal, and loving best friend to fill your days with joy, hugs, and wet nose kisses, I am your guy!
