We have seen a recent increase in reports of scammers impersonating Calgary Foundation and targeting individuals across Canada and the United States. These bad actors are using our name, logo, and fabricated contact details to promote fraudulent grants or funding opportunities in exchange for personal information or payment.
Please be aware:
• We do not contact individuals via social media, WhatsApp, or other messaging platforms to offer unsolicited grants or funding.
• Calgary Foundation never requests payment in exchange for grants or funding.
• Legitimate communications from our organization will only come from an official Calgary Foundation email address or phone number.
If you receive a suspicious message:
• Do not respond or send money.
• Do not share personal or financial information.
• Report the incident to your local authorities and to the platform where it occurred.
• You can contact us directly at 403-802-7700 to verify any communication.
We are deeply concerned about the potential emotional and financial impact of these scams and are actively working to raise awareness and help protect our community.

A $5M gift from Harold and Betty Allsopp, facilitated through Calgary Foundation, is supporting the creation of the Harold and Betty Allsopp Women’s Cardiovascular Health Clinic at South Health Campus. The clinic will expand access to specialized heart care for women across Southern Alberta, advancing prevention, early intervention, and coordinated treatment.
It was a pleasure to be part of the ribbon-cutting ceremony and to help connect this meaningful gift to a critical community need alongside Calgary Health Foundation.

Calgarians are feeling lonelier than during the pandemic according to our 2025 Quality of Life report. But small, local projects can make a big difference.
Fauzia Khedri noticed how language barriers were isolating Afghan and other newcomer women. She started the Immigrant Learning Mums Society, offering workshops in languages women understand – helping them build confidence, learn new skills, and feel more at home in their communities.
Projects like this show how a grassroots idea can build connection. Neighbour Grants offers up to $10,000 for projects that help people feel they belong in their communities.

We're proud to be a longtime sponsor of SocialWest, helping ensure local charities and nonprofit organizations can attend and benefit from the conference.
This year, a lot of our takeaways centred on new ways to build real connection, community, and engagement online. So, in that spirit – hi 👋 we’re the people behind the posts.
Shout out to the organizers, speakers, and fellow sponsors for making year 10 of SocialWest such a great one.
If you attended, what stuck with you the most? Drop it in the comments.
