Meeting June 1, at 6:00 pm, Program Room 5 at the Library - We are excited to let you know that we will have three members from the National Level at this meeting. Alix Halpin - President, Kim Ferrier - Treasurer and Jennifer Ash - Social Media Director, will be sharing what their commitment to Project Linus Canada means to them. Thank you to the Airdrie and District Community Foundation for the generous grant we received on May 14th at the celebration Gala. Project Linus Airdrie is grateful to receive these funds to to further our mission of making blankets to comfort children from ages newborn to 18 years old in times of serious illness or distress. 💖

The Airdrie and District Community Foundation celebrated a milestone year during its annual Granting Gala on Thursday, awarding $75,000 to local charities and community organizations.

It’s National Volunteer Week, and we wanted to give a shout out to all of our “Blanketeers” who are dedicated, and incredibly talented! We could not serve our community without you! Project Linus Airdrie’s mission is two fold, the first to provide love, a sense of security, warmth and comfort to children ages newborn to teen, who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need of a hug, through the gifts of new, handmade blankets, lovingly crafted by our volunteer "Blanketeers". Second, to provide a rewarding and fun service opportunity for interested individuals and groups in local communities, for the benefit of children. This is such a great event, supporting a very worthy cause while having the opportunity to purchase blanket supplies at such reasonable prices. It’s a win, win!

Tonight’s meeting was such a great time of sharing recent news, sorting, labeling and packaging 110 newly made blankets! We were thrilled and grateful to welcome new blanketeers as well! Our mission is to provide a sense of love and care to children experiencing trauma or going through a difficult time in their lives. However your Easter weekend was celebrated, Project Linus Airdrie hopes you created memories to cherish, and carry you into the promise of spring and warmer weather! So many beautiful and heart warming blankets were received at our February 2nd meeting. Our amazing blanketeers have brought in 146 blankets since we met in December! We had such a fun meeting, with plenty of camaraderie, idea sharing and new friendships made. The children who receive these blankets will be sure to feel the warmth and love placed in every stitch by our generous volunteers. 💗 Project Linus Canada
