Your safety matters. Your voice matters. We’re here for you.

At YWCA Northeast Kansas, we know that empowerment begins with support, connection, and opportunity.
Our Center for Safety and Empowerment Program Director, Becca, recently presented an Overview of CSE Services to participants in Mirror, Inc's Work for Success program — an initiative designed to help individuals build skills, find employment, and strengthen family stability.
We're proud to partner with programs like Work for Success that believe in the potential of every person. Together, we're working to break down barriers and build bold, powerful futures.

📅 May 6 is Moms’ Equal Pay Day — the day that marks how far into 2025 moms must work to earn what dads made in 2024 alone.
That’s over 4 extra months of work. Same roles, same responsibilities — unequal pay. Moms, especially moms of color, face some of the largest wage gaps in the workforce.
It’s time to close the gap. 💪🏽💼

A few weeks ago, we launched Bold. Powerful. Now. — a year-long campaign to uplift the voices of women, survivors, and communities too often left out of the conversation.
This movement is yours, too. 💪🏽✨
We’re not just fighting for a seat at the table—we’re building a new table where everyone belongs. Power isn’t reserved for the loudest voice or the most privileged identity. It lives in survivors. In young leaders. In trans women. In Black and Brown communities. In YOU.
Claim your space.
Own your power.
Be part of something bold. 💥

Thanks to the generous — and ongoing — support from Countryside United Methodist Church, residents in our shelter were able to enjoy a delicious and joy-filled Easter meal. 💜
From food donations to steadfast care, their kindness reminds us that community support truly makes a difference for survivors rebuilding their lives.
Thank you, Countryside UMC, for showing up with compassion and abundance — not just during the holidays, but all year long.

🗣This , YWCA of Northeast Kansas honors the resilience, leadership, and contributions of AAPI communities. Let’s uplift AAPI voices, fight for equity, and celebrate the strength of diverse cultures!

Denim is not an invitation.
Tomorrow is World Denim Day, and we’re joining a global movement to challenge r**e culture and stand in solidarity with survivors.
Denim Day began in protest of a harmful court ruling that suggested a survivor’s jeans implied consent. On this day, we wear denim to say: No article of clothing ever excuses sexual violence.
👖 Join us. Wear denim, start the conversation, and show your support for survivors.
📸 Tag us in your photos and use to help spread the message.
Together, we’re building a world where survivors are believed, supported, and never blamed.

This month — and every month — we speak out, stand up, and support survivors.
Chamiel and Lauren from YWCA Northeast Kansas' Center for Safety and Empowerment were proud to table at Washburn University’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month event, Ichabods Speak Out: Open Mic Poetry Reading Against Sexual Assault.
We were honored to provide resources, share support, and stand in solidarity with the Washburn community. Because every survivor deserves to be heard, believed, and supported.

At YWCA Northeast Kansas, we condemn racism and hate in all forms.
We are aware of recent images circulating online that highlight the persistence of racial insensitivity among youth in our community. We stand firmly against the harm these actions cause. Racism has no place in our schools, our community, or our future.
Our commitment to racial justice is unwavering. We will continue to advocate, educate, and act — because building an equitable future requires bold, powerful action today.
