The state of Kansas has been granted an extension to submit a request for a major federal disaster declaration for a major winter storm that struck the state Jan. 7-16, which included heavy snowfall, excessive winds and extreme windchills.
“We are grateful for this extension to file our request,” Governor Laura Kelly said.
