Today, the Western Mass Area Labor Federation, MassCOSH, Teamsters Local 404, and other union members gathered to honor those who have lost their lives at work in the past year. We are united in our commitment to building a world where every worker is able to come home safe at the end of the day.

To quote MassCOSH's Dying for Work Report, "No job is worth a life. No deadline is worth a death."

Thank you IAFF Local 648 for their Honor Guard, Minister Maureen Brown, violinist Eleni Yanis, and everyone who contributed to the memorialization of the 69 workers who died for work in Massachusetts over the course of 2025.

Come to the Hampshire-Franklin Assembly to learn about organizing new unions with EWOC!

The Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee (EWOC) is is a volunteer-run network of hundreds of workers, organizers, and supporters who together are building a stronger, worker-led labor movement. We support and train any non-union worker in any industry who wants power and agency at work. Along with unions and other labor organizations, we can build the militancy and strength of the working class and effectively organize the millions of unorganized workers in the United States.

Learn how to unionize YOUR workplace, or get involved as a volunteer if you're already a union member!

The Amherst DPW Associations (ADPWA), a union representing roughly 60 Amherst DPW workers, will be conducting a rally on the Town Common on Thursday, 3/19 @ 5:30 pm. We're counting on your support to help win a fair contract for these essential workers.

Earlier this month, we rallied with ADPWA workers and forced Town Manager Paul Bockelman back to the table. But two sessions later, Paul has failed to provide a counter-offer. The Town Manager might think he can stall out the union, but let's send a clear message: the public stands with the union and we're not going to stop paying attention.

Will you be there?
