last friday, i got a call from ms. pam. she wanted a bulk order of our brainfood trail mix… for her grandchildren’s easter baskets.
MELTEDDD MY HEART!
bc it’s small gestures like that that introduce the babies to healthier habits. i never even thought to do something like that!
we met last month @ the bay area neighborhood council. she just started her plant-based journey this yr, and you can tell she’s serious about it. i even tried a quinoa salad she made—so good—and we chatted and chattedd lol.
moments like this remind me how important it is to be intentional with the youth. a strong foundation really does carry into adulthood… i see that more and more as i get older.
my early experiences with healthy food are the reason i’m here now—helping others start their own journeys.
whether you celebrate holidays or not, that’s really the takeaway:
be intentional with the youth. they may not know how they’ll use what you give them now—but one day, they will.

the yr is quickly coming to an end and i promised myself I’d do one more of these; that i’d make it good bc the last digital drawing i did for this series was so mid and IM NOT GOING OUT LIKE THAT LOL. i will express how proud i am of myself for finally putting a series like this into the universe though! i have so many content ideas in my head and i always get runaway from connecting on them. my biggest dream for myself + this legacy is to incorporate my artistry into this wellness work; to convey that creativity and wellness are closely aligned. cheers for taking a step in that direction this yr! ❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥❤️🔥🤎🌳
1: inspo for this visual: green has become one of my favorite colors + i like love the army fatigue pattern. inside the words “electric eats” i attempted to create that pattern. then, i just wanted to draw green things to accompany it; some of the drawings are recycled, some i polished up and some are new.. but they’re all green! lol
2: i’ve been experimenting with bread! my method for this batch: rolled a layer of spelt dough, topped it with mix of seasoned tomatoes, onions; folded thaat over and topped it with the same mix of veggies—so it ended up being like stuffed bread!
3: a seamoss drink for breakfast; brazil nut bases, some turmeric, vanilla + ceylon cinnamon loaded w/ lots of seamoss
4: quesadilla feels like an “always slap” go-to for me. this one was a spelt tortilla + kale, oyster mushrooms, red onions & a cashew cheese sauce inside
5: the garden’s classic green monster drink has become one of my favorite drinks to have. that’s mind blowing to me bc until about 3 yrs into my plant-based journey i despised the taste of the green drink.. growth!!!
6: some more bread! this one was a spelt, einkorn attempt @ focaccia, topped w/ seasoned yellow onions, cilantro + sesame seeds
7: i enjoyed my birthday having eithopian dinner w/ friends @ lalibela, in hew haven, ct; ambiance of the place is 10/10
8 & 9: cooked dinner w/ shimmy
