They saw a need and helped meet that need! Special thank you to the Air Force Strike 2 Team for their generous donation of water. We have given out a lot of bottles of water this Summer so donations like this help us to continue to meet the needs of our vulnerable homeless neighbors.
Summer months are always a time when donations drop off so if you are looking for a way to help the Mission this Summer, our Immediate Needs List is a great starting point.
Check out our immediate needs list at https://bit.ly/missionneeds.
Donations can be purchased and dropped off at 901 McNeil Street on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 am to 4 pm or can be ordered through our Amazon Wish List at https://bit.ly/missionamazonlist.
Did you know that Vocational Training is a crucial part of our Life Recovery Program? Through Vocational Training, our guests are getting the tools they need to land a job, keep a job, and develop healthy work habits.
Edwin came to the Mission struggling with addiction. He never had any trouble getting a job and being a hard worker. Edwin's problem came that he overworked himself and fell deeper and deeper into his addiction. Before coming to the Mission, Edwin was working 80 hours a week. At the pace he was going, Edwin couldn't keep it up and eventually his addiction got worse.
Today, Edwin has learned healthy work habits. He has a better understanding of the biblical approach to work and how to balance work with rest. When you partner with the Mission, you are giving our guests the gift of work. You are giving them the gift of being able to support themselves and thrive in the workplace.
You can change the lives of more men just like Edwin. To learn how, visit www.sbrescuemission.com.
Recently, Pastor Larry Otwell got the pleasure of speaking to Belle Park Baptist Church. These folks were interested in learning more about our Life Recovery Program and how they could be a part of change in our cities.
There is nothing we love more than telling people what God is doing at the Mission. If your group is interested in learning more, please reach out to us. More information on booking a speaker and a suggested topics list, visit https://www.sbrescuemission.com/mission/request-a-speaker/.
Thank you Belle Park for your faithful partnership. YOU are changing our cities one life at a time!
Meet our new friends James and Ene from House of Friendship in Nigeria. This awesome couple are missionaries that we met through our friends at Community Renewal International.
James grew up in Allendale and both him and Ene worked with Community Renewal. They have taken all that they have learned from their time at Community Renewal and brought it to Nigeria. We had the opportunity to visit with them, learn about each other's ministry, and bless them with some supplies for the kids that they serve.
Great things happen when Kingdom minded ministries come together. We know that God has great things in store for House of Friendship and we can't wait to see our friends again and hear all about the lives that are being changed.
Please join us in praying for our friends and the children they serve.

Sally came to the Mission during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She was hurting, broken, and desperate for change. She joined the New Beginnings Program, began growing in her relationship with God, and successfully graduated that program and moved into our Transition Program. In that program, she got a job, saved money, and was able to secure housing for herself.
Fast forward to today... Sally reached out to us to let us know that she is thriving at work and at home. She has restored relationships with her family (who came out to spend a week with her!) and is continuing to seek after God.
This is why we do what we do. There is no one too broken for God to restore. There is no one too lost for God to find. God is doing great things at the Mission and Sally is just one of many examples of His goodness.
You can help other women like Sally find God, find purpose, and find life. To learn how, visit www.sbrescuemission.com.

Omega and her daughter came to the Mission in 2016 looking for a fresh start. Omega joined our New Beginnings Programs and began the journey to change the future for herself and her daughter. Fast forward to today... Omega came by the Mission to visit and everything came full circle. She donated some goods to the Mission and even wants for her and her daughter to start volunteering! We are happy to report Omega has a full-time job, they have their own home, and her daughter is about to start her senior year of high school.
There's no circumstance too big for God. What once seemed hopeless was just the setup for God to create a hope and a future for these amazing ladies.

Leadership looks different at our ministry!
We had several staff members out last week but our ministry didn't skip a beat. Our leadership filled in so that every job and every pickup got done. The Kingdom of God operates in excellence and our ministry from the top down works with that same level of excellence.
Relationships change everything!
At the Mission, our Life Recovery Program works to restore 4 key relationships in a person's life. The first is a relationship with God. Second is a relationship with self. Next is a relationship with others. And finally, a relationship with work.
We are created to be in relationship with God and others. Our ministry is blessed to do life with our guests 24/7. They are never alone. They are never isolated. There is never a need that is not met. And they always have someone to walk alongside them on the journey towards recovery and into their Jeremiah 29:11.

Jimmy came to the Mission broken and hurting. His desire for change led him to the Mission and ultimately to joining our Life Recovery Program. Today, Jimmy has reconnected with his brother and has moved out of the Mission and into the next chapter of his recovery journey.
Our Life Recovery Program goes beyond just addressing surface level issues. We dive deep into an individuals hurt, trauma, and addiction and work to restore their relationships with God, self, others, and creation. A person experiencing homelessness and poverty needs more than a house. They need more than just a meal and material possession. They need healing. They need recovery. They need to discover who they are in Christ and find their Jeremiah 29:11. They need a hope that can only be found in Christ!
You can help others like Jimmy find God, find purpose, and find life. To learn how, visit www.sbrescuemission.com.

Micah came to the Mission broken. Through life circumstances and the choices he made, Micah found himself homeless, hopeless, and desperate. He joined our Life Recovery Program and began working on restoring a series of broken relationships in his life.
Today, Micah has restored his relationship with his family and has moved to Texas to be closer to his kids and be the father they deserve. Through his time at the Mission, Micah was able to restore his relationship with God, self, others, and work. His future is brighter than ever and God has great things in store for him and his family.

Another 6 for the Kingdom!
As we gear up for the 4th of July, we want to take a moment and celebrate the people who found hope, healing, and freedom in Christ!
There's no freedom like the freedom that comes from Christ!
Our Life Recovery Program works to give our guests the tools they need to find God, find purpose, and find life. We help them find jobs, find housing, find healing, and find their place in the world. But the most important thing we help them find is Jesus! These are the moments we live for! Congratulations to those who publicly professed Jesus as their Lord and Savior. The best is yet to come!
When Kingdom minded ministries come together, great things happen! Special thanks to our friend Clint Davis with Clint Davis Counseling & Integrative Wellness for stopping by to learn more about our ministry and programs. We had some great discussions on the problems facing our cities and how we can partner together to help the most hurting and broken in our cities. Our cities are getting hit with a lot of problems but thankfully, the Bible gives us a solution that provides complete healing to trauma, hopelessness, and poverty.

He may have come to the Mission broken but today, he is discovering his purpose and value. This week, Calvin has been training with our landscaping team learning how to operate the zero turn mower.
Not only does our program give our guests the tools they need to grow in their relationship with Christ but we also give them practical life skills that will help them be job ready. Through Vocational Training, our guests receive the tools they need to land a job and develop healthy work habits. Our guests are learning not only hard skills like maintenance, culinary arts, housekeeping, warehouse operations, landscaping, and more but also the 7 soft skills employers seek in employees. These include teamwork, communication, attention, adaptability, initiative, leadership and problem solving.
When you partner with the Mission, you are giving our guests the gift of being able to support themselves and break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.
