Community Renewal intentionally builds and grows positive, caring relationships.

We are thrilled to have new friends and old friends from Washington, D.C., visiting Shreveport this week to learn more about Community Renewal! Connecting People! Changing Lives! Transforming Communities!

Do you know what it takes to build and grow positive and caring relationships? We are so glad you've asked!! Below are three tips you can practice in order to be more intentional in this area.

πŸŽ‰ We've walked into the new year with a renewed commitment! πŸŒπŸ’™ Our focus remains on fostering caring relationships, connecting our community, and spreading positive transformation globally. No resolutions, just a steadfast dedication to making a difference in our world block by block. Cheers to a year filled with purpose and impact! 🌟

Merry Christmas from our home to yours! We hope each of you has a day filled with joy! May the love we feel for one another today carry through the entire year and may we always be connected by caring!

🌟✨ We are embracing the holiday spirit, but are making a special effort to remember that it's not always merry for everyone. Amidst the joy, some carry the weight of grief, anxiousness, and stress. Together let's reach out to neighbors and friends, spread kindness beyond ourselves. A simple check-in can make a world of difference. Our youth are leading the way, committed to putting smiles on faces through neighborhood service projects. Together, let's uplift and sprinkle the joy and kindness. πŸ’™

In a charming park nestled under a twinkling sky, a group of pint-sized snoozers embarked on a unique adventure: Sleeping their way to Christmas! πŸŒ³πŸ’€ Santa himself sent a magical messenger to ensure the kids were getting quality ZZZs. In an attempt to tire themselves out for the BIG night, the kids organized a reindeer rodeo in their dreams. The antics included sled races, snowball fights, and a dance-off with Rudolph, who turned out to be a surprisingly good breakdancer! The messenger reported back with joyous news – the kids' dreams were full of laughter, sugar plums, and a suspicious number of presents! Never underestimate the power of good sleep, especially when there is only 9 days left in the Christmas countdown! ✨😴

Hope you enjoyed this Christmas story directed and inspired by our Highland Friendship House Kids Club!

If you are heading out to do some Christmas shopping today, why not stop by one of the Rhino Coffee locations first and make the season brighter for a child in our community? Just take a tag off the Christmas tree, representing a boy or girl, and return by Dec. 22 with a gift wrapped for that child! You'll be glad you did!

Happy Friendship House Friday! We're thrilled to present a special opportunity for you to spread joy this Holiday Season. Our Friendship Houses, nestled in various neighborhoods around Shreveport and Bossier City, are dedicated to supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade with a secure, enjoyable, and encouraging after-school program.

Understanding the boundless rewards of investing in the future generation, we are committed to making a positive impact. However, we recognize that this mission cannot be accomplished in isolation. As we approach 2024, the Friendship House has identified several needs, and we invite our community to join hands with us in addressing them.

Whether you're interested in becoming a monthly sponsor or contributing towards a specific need, you can explore the options on our website for easy donation. Together We Care!

'Tis the season to be jolly, and this morning, we are overjoyed due to the continued kindness and support from Yolanda's Tax Service . Our CPKC/MLK Friendship House celebrated a wonderful Christmas party with an amazing paint theme, bringing laughter, fun, and excitement that energized the atmosphere. Thank you, Yolanda, for being a part of the Caring Movement!

Happy Friendship House Friday! As we head into the weekend, our hearts are filled with gratitude. A big thank you to all the supporters, donors, and volunteers of all our Friendship Houses for your incredible contributions. This Christmas season, we're joyfully connecting with fantastic partners like the Red River Lions Club. They brought holiday cheer to our Highland Friendship House with bagpipes, a drummer boy, Santa's elves preparing reindeer food, and a fun gingerbread house building activity. Together We Care!!!

Thank you so much to the student team at Loyola College Prep for blessing our community through the school's annual FAiTH Day! Dozens of food baskets made it to our neighborhoods-in-need on Monday because of this student-led effort! Thank you, Loyola College Prep!

See you today for the last Circle of Caring Lunch of the year!!

Life is better with friends! Yesterday, our team attended the North Louisiana Interfaith Taste of Faith gathering, experiencing a wonderful time of unity and compassion. We encountered familiar faces and forged new friendships, reinforcing the belief that a connected and unified community fosters a brighter future through collective care.

Our newest We Care School kids learned about what it means to be caring! Elves came from all over to help out and give out "Caught You Caring" cards to students and staff who were especially caring today. Pine Grove Elementary elves rock!

As Giving Tuesday draws to a close, your generosity contributes to supporting various initiatives of our organization, including the Friendship House. Serving as a beacon of hope in low-income, high-crime neighborhoods, the Friendship House operates like a community center within a home. It offers after-school education programs, character building, service projects, GED courses, tutoring, computer training, art and music lessons, family nights, and more.
