We stand with Teamsters Locals 162 and 305 Albertsons/Safeway workers in their fight for a fair contract!

Albertsons drivers and warehouse workers in Portland, represented by Teamsters Locals 162 and 305, have voted by 99 percent to authorize a strike. Workers are demanding stronger seniority rights, safer working conditions, protections against outsourcing and automation, improvements to driver bid and dispatch, and more.

“Teamsters at the Albertsons distribution center in Oregon delivered a clear and unified message,” said Mark Davison, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 162 and Teamsters International Western Region Vice President. “If Albertsons wants to avoid a strike they need to come to the bargaining table and negotiate a contract that rewards its workers.”

Negotiations with Albertsons resume this week. Teamsters are demanding the company deliver a fair contract or workers will be forced to strike.
