Meet in front of the Multnomah County Courthouse (Corner of SW Madison & SW 1st) then march to Portland City Hall (1221 SW 4th Ave.) - a short 5 minute walk

A small delegation will march to DA Vasquez's office to demand action against ICE. After our march to City Hall, we will hear from four speakers who will represent union leadership, people impacted by teargas on 1/31, and workers on the frontline facing off with ICE.

"Greg Adams, CEO of Kaiser Permanente nationwide, sent his local management to the bargaining table and gave them the authority to make agreements with OFNHP. The 4,500 workers of KP/OFNHP came to a tentative agreement on successorship— recognition, employment security, and continuation of our contracts and benefits if the company chooses to sell off any departments. Good old Greg then 4 days later reneged our agreement – obviously breaking labor law and without any real explanation. Greg loves to tout that he’s 'a nurse himself' (who hasn’t touched a patient in decades), but makes almost $8,000 an hour for a yearly salary of $17 million in 2023. Instead of using his experience as a healthcare worker to advocate for safe staffing and fair wages, he chooses to publicly shame the wage increases being asked for by the healthcare workers who take care of people like you! Greg is the epitome of 'wages for me, but not for thee' and is a gold-plated enemy of the working class from coast to coast!"

We stand in complete and total solidarity with the workers at PeaceHealth who are fighting for justice and for good patient care. Management has decided to attack these workers' health insurance: they will sever their life line if they strike into November. This is an unheard of attack that is potentially lethal, particularly for marginalized workers who depend on their health insurance.

We will do whatever it takes to support these workers, including spending every day on the strike line and organizing in the community to create a tidal wave of support. Management has proven themselves to be greedy and cruel people, who themselves are not healthcare workers and whose bloated salaries come only from exploiting the labor of those who actually do the work. When healthcare workers stick up for their patients and themselves management decides they should be punished.

Donate to this strike fund to help fortify these workers' defenses, and send a message directly to PeaceHealth that we will not tolerate these attacks on frontline healthcare workers. We need those workers, we don't need highly paid executives who contribute literally nothing to patient care.

On the evening of January 22nd, Melissa Umana - a new member of Local 7901 who was looking forward to getting involved in her Union - while driving with her five children (including her 31 day old newborn son) had no time to react when another driver lost control of their vehicle and entered into her lane, impacting her family while traveling at speed, in a head on collision.

Everyone is *alive* but the injuries suffered by the family were extreme and most remain hospitalized. Their road to recovery will be long and CWA members are encouraged to donate to the GoFundMe organized by her family. Following tragedy, all the working class has is each other, and every donation - large or small - is *important* and helps releive the financial hardship now faced by part of our Union family.
