Restore Merced

It's hard to believe we are already 3 weeks into the new year! The Restore Merced community has picked up right where we left off as we move towards stability together through our pillars of work, growth mindset, healthy community, and Christ-centered spiritual formation. Pictured is our January Re-Storied night at our shop where we come together as a family to share a meal and learn from one another's story of transformation.

We want to say a big THANK YOU to you all for your support and partnership. Our end of the year fundraising campaign brought in just over $82,000 to invest in continuing to create a Christ-centered community of belonging and meaningful work opportunities. We are humbled and grateful!

As we close this year, we want to say THANK YOU for investing with us in this community. May you know and experience the hope that the King has come, and has begun healing all that is broken in our lives and our world.

In order for someone to move from instability to stability, we all need a family - a community of belonging where everyone has something to give and to gain. Along with providing a job, Restore Merced is a Christ-centered community of belonging. We have weekly small groups, classes, and community nights. This healthy community is established on the foundation of God’s restorative work and is critical for long term stability.

Long term health and stability can most easily be measured by a person’s ability to remain in a healthy community over the long haul. Our goal for this next year is to see 70% of all trainees who go through our Restore Jobs program REMAIN in the Restore Merced community after finishing the program and moving on. Over the last few years, we've been able to offer roughly 30 jobs per year for neighbors with barriers to employment with revenue generated from work we provide local public entities. We continue to work on securing long term sustainable contracts to ensure we can continue to offer the same number of transitional jobs for people on the pathway from instability to stability for years to come.

We utilize donations to provide our trainees mentorship, life skills, and a community of belonging along with the job. Every dollar you donate generates $3 of additional revenue, creating life-changing employment opportunities. We've raised $32,750 toward our goal of $50,000 in the month of December. As another year comes to a close this month, we rejoice in all the ways that God continues to work in and through the community of Restore Merced. From starting new work in downtown Merced for the Downtown Merced Partnership, to growing produce for UC Merced and local CSA customers, to continued growth in community, there is much to be thankful for - and none of it would be possible without the support and partnership of people like you.
