Reaching new heights at ALPs Playdate! ALPs hosted our annual Playdate, where participants could sign up to challenge themselves on our ropes course. There were smiles, laughter and the occasional scream as people stepped outside of their comfort zones 40 feet in the air, into their growth zones. Come sign up for a workshop if you enjoyed your experience or would like to try it for the first time!

This year at ALPs, we facilitated 60 workshops and connected with 1,452 participants across UW–Madison. Each of you brought energy, curiosity, and heart into our programs, and we value you deeply for it.

To celebrate the community we’ve built together, here’s a collection of moments from throughout the year. Thank you for making 2025 unforgettable.

ALPs is hosting a grand escape room adventure for all UW Madison students. Join other UW Madison students in rescuing Bucky from his sett (a badger's den) by working together to solve puzzles and complete fun team challenges. Come with a friend or come on your own to meet new friends! This will be a fun opportunity to connect with other students as part of the Wisconsin Welcome event!

Last sunday was Day 2 of ALPs playdate! Huge smiles and reaching new heights!

Saturday marked the beginning our spring challenge course season and we kicked it off with a highs workshop and day one of Playdate! The course was filled with laughter, team-building and memories being made. Thank you so much to the UW Vet Med Third Years and everyone who came to Playdate! Let's do it again this weekend!

This weekend, some of our ALPsters travelled to Monticello, Iowa for the AEE (Association for Experiential Education) Heartland Regional Conference. They spent their weekend learning new things, meeting amazing people, becoming better facilitators and having so much fun! Thank you to , , the UW-L MSED: Adventure Based EE Cohort, and Experiential Systems Inc. for all the work put into this weekend!

Want to have fun and challenge yourself on a ropes course for free? Bring your friends and come check out UW-Madison's coolest campus feature--the Recreation & Wellbeing Challenge Course operated by the Adventure Learning Programs (ALPs)! Explore various high challenge course elements 40 feet in the air including our tandem zip line, climbing wall, giant swing, and more. No experience necessary! All equipment and instructions will be provided. The playdate is only open to current UW-Madison students.
The challenge course is located in Stoughton, WI and transportation will be provided. You will not be able to return to campus until the end of the session.

Time:
Session 1: 8:30 am-12:30 pm
Session 2: 1:00 pm-5:00 pm

Location: Rec Well Challenge Course

Session 1: depart campus at 8:30AM; return at 12:30PM
Session 2: depart campus at 1PM; return at 5:00PM.
Time on course: 3 hours

Additional transportation and logistical information will be provided after you register.
