We hope to see lots of LEGOsaurus Rex enthusiasts at tomorrow’s LEGO Challenge 4th the Library (June 13).
A new build theme will be issued as a guide for kids to follow at the start of the challenge.
Kids are then welcome to use our HUGE supply of LEGO to build whatever they can think up!
Afterward, creations are put in the youth services display cases, and a winner from three different age groups (Ages 1 - 5, Ages 6 - 8, Ages 9 - 12) will be selected to win a small prize!
Challenge is held every Saturday during SRC, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.
Free to attend. DUPLO Blocks also available to build with.

Craft with us today!
Crafty Kids Time is held on Fridays during Summer Reading Club, from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM.
It’s free to attend and grab a project kit while supplies last.
You can choose to work on it here at the library (supplies provided), or you can take it home and work on it when it caters to your busy summer schedule!
Look under “DINO” in the easy readers section to find books and Dino tales (pun intended) that will perfectly accompany these crafts.
See you there!

Highlights from Summer Story Time with our guest storyteller, Mayor Kristen Ishihara!
We’re so glad she could stop by and help us Unearth A Story with some songs, dances, and dinosaur-themed tales.
Thank you Mayor Ishihara, and please come visit us for future story times when you can!
We encourage everyone to visit the City’s website and learn more about our Mayor, her task forces, and initiatives.

A little dinosaur joke meme with a Texas twist to start the day!
Summer Reading Club now has 963 kids/teens registered, and Adult SRC has 295 adults participating.
Fantastic! That’s a BIG jump from our last check-in.
As we finish out this first week, share the news that Summer Reading Club is underway and help us surpass our annual goal number.
The sooner you get registered, the more time you’ll have to earn prizes and get rewarded for reading.
Stop by and register in person, or go online and sign up via Beanstack.

Our first SRC Performer of the season will be Magician, Bronson Chadwick! He’ll be serving up illusions and educational dinosaur fun for us (maybe he’ll make a T-rex disappear. Or appear?!).
As a refresher for everyone, all of our SRC Performer Days will be held at the Pine Tree Elementary School Auditorium, 1803 Pine Tree Rd, Longview, TX 75604.
The auditorium is located over by the Pine Tree Primary School, Auxiliary Football Stadium (the old football stadium), and Pine Tree Community Center/Pine Tree ISD offices.
There are multiple ways to get there depending where you’re coming from, so please refer to your GPS and map apps if you can, and plan accordingly.
If coming from the general Longview area, one of the easiest options is to take W Loop 281 to Pine Tree Rd, and then follow that up to where the Pine Tree ISD offices are. Turn left on W Pirate Ave, and into the campus vicinity. Veer towards the right, and the auditorium is across the big parking lot from the PTISD Offices.
Please remember, there are NO food or drinks allowed inside the auditorium during performances.
We want to help our gracious hosts, the Pine Tree Fine Arts Department, keep the building nice and clean as they’ve recently remodeled inside.
Show starts at 10:30 AM, so get ready for some summer magic fun!
