Let’s talk about something many people experience after stomach or esophageal surgery, but rarely hear about: Dumping Syndrome. 👇
Dumping syndrome happens when food—especially refined sugars—moves too quickly from your stomach into your small intestine.
🩺The Symptoms:
It usually happens in two phases:
⏰ Early Dumping (10–30 mins after eating): Nausea, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, bloating, or feeling lightheaded.
⏰ Late Dumping (1–3 hours after eating): Shakiness, sweating, fatigue, or confusion (caused by a sudden drop in blood sugar).
👉How to Manage It:
🍽️ Eat smaller, more frequent meals.
🚫 Cut back on simple sugars and sweet drinks.
💧 Drink fluids between meals, not during them.

People don't really know a lot about bariatric surgery. We are always available to answer any questions patients may have so they can make an informed decision. Here are just a few things I wish more people knew:
👉I wish they knew how safe and effective bariatric surgery is sooner. cWe have a 99+% satisfaction rate among our patients, and the surgery itself is onsidered extremely safe.
👉I wish they knew just how much better their heath would be…sometimes they are surprised! Most bariatric surgery patients say the ony regret they have is not having had the surgery sooner! So many health issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, and sleep apnea can be improved or eliminated.
👉I wish they knew just how important vitamins are. Daily vitamins are part of the journey after surgery to prevent issues down the road. It's a small price to pay for lasting health!

✨Amazing Gastric Sleeve Result!✨ This patient is only about 3 and a half months post surgery, and what a difference! She started at what is considered a lower BMI than some patients because she wanted to address health concerns and stop GLP-1 medications.
