City Center Village

Look at Tucker being all Cute and Handsome! Tucker is one of our many Fur Residents! He has kind of become the Village Pet actually, as you just never know who is going to have him out and about on his walks! It is almost like they all take turns taking Tucker! He is all energy and excitement but he is a good boy and we all love him!

Why wait?

Most of the time, it seems to be human nature to just WAIT till things become necessary. Waiting for senior living is no different for most of us. As we age we like to keep our "normal" till it just isn't logical any longer. Certain tasks become harder, we begin to need help with cooking, cleaning, and yard work, just to name a few. We see this pretty often. Our residents are independent but things have gotten harder over time.

From the outside looking in, let me share what I have noticed. Some residents adjust wonderfully and they accept that things have gotten harder and this change is welcomed. Some on the other hand, have a hard time adjusting. Not only are they learning to accept the things that have become a struggle but now they have to accept a needed move, be in a new environment, with new people with a lot of adjusting to do.

Sometimes waiting till the last minute can make that transition more overwhelming than it has to be. Some of our residents have joined us prior to actually NEEDING our services. They moved in, got adjusted, and built friendships. They learn the processes and how things work PRIOR to actually NEEDING it. When taking this route, you allow yourself to adjust and become accustom to fewer things at a time instead of having to face everything all at once.

We still have residents who drive and never utilize the transportation services but they know they can if and when it is needed. We have some residents who eat most meals from our kitchen but they still love to cook so they have small appliances in their apartments for those special meals that they want to make. We still have residents that do all of their own cleaning and maybe just utilize our housekeeping if they are having a rough week or maybe they only have housekeeping sweep and mop but they do all the rest.

Being an independent senior living community with all inclusive rates, all of those services are included in your monthly rate from the start which means your rate will not increase just because you are no longer comfortable driving, or because you need consistent weekly housekeeping. Our rates also include all utilities, landline phone service, cable television service and Wi-Fi Internet and of course, the THREE MEALS PER DAY!

City Center Village would like to thank each and every person who visited with us at our station during the NARCOG Senior Luau! YOU are the reason we participate in this event! YOU are the reason we have fun during this event! YOU are AWESOME!!!!!!!!! We are already counting down the days till Senior Luau 2027!!!!!!

Just to provide some clarity, this event is HUGE!!!! I totally suggest you all join us next year! It is ALWAYS in MAY, and as far as I know, it is ALWAYS at Ingalls Harbor!

This was the best group of people! We want to thank NARCOG and INGALLS HARBOR for hosting, and we would like to thank EACH AND EVERY person who provided their time in any capacity! Those folks who drove the buses, those directors who traveled with their Seniors, those who served lunch and called bingo, those who set up stations with useful information, and a WHOLE LOT OF FUN! There are A LOT of people who play a role in this event, and they do it selflessly!!!!! THANK YOU from City Center Village!!!!!!
