Today, the NAACP DeKalb Branch recognizes World Sickle Cell Day and raises awareness about Sickle Cell Disease, a genetic blood disorder that disproportionately affects Black communities.

β€οΈππ€ Happy Juneteenth from the NAACP DeKalb Branch! π€πβ€οΈ
Today, we honor the end of slavery in the United States and celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of African Americans throughout history. Juneteenth is a time to reflect on our past, celebrate our progress, and recommit ourselves to the ongoing pursuit of justice, equity, and freedom for all.
We look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow at our Juneteenth Community Expo at Rainbow Park Baptist Church as we come together in fellowship, education, and celebration.
Freedom. Justice. Progress.
