Who We Are:
A mixture of parents, YES staff, and community members. How can you help?
What We Do:
Support the education and individual growth of ALL YES students. How we do it:
We work with the YES administration and staff to provide educational opportunities for students, faculty, and parents; participate in and host community activities; and provide financial resources for items needed in classrooms as well as continuing education opportunities for our teachers. We need 100% faculty and parent participation in YES PTO. Joining YES PTO is an investment in your child’s education. Through PTO you will receive newsletters, parenting tips, volunteer opportunities, and a way to take an active, instrumental role in the education of your child(ren.) What does it cost? YES PTO has an annual membership of $5 for the family. We accept cash and checks made out to YES PTO. How can you become more involved? Joining YES PTO is the first step. Then sign up to volunteer to work an upcoming event. How can I support YES if I don’t have time to give? Many adults have a time crunch issue, if volunteering at YES during school hours is not an option, don’t fret! Because of your membership, you are made aware of our upcoming events! You can support YES PTO by buying the YES t-shirt. You can support YES PTO by purchasing items from our annual fundraiser. You can support YES PTO by donating money to help us fund our events/activities. Activities/things YES PTO has done in the past:
Back to school Teacher Breakfast
Teacher appreciation luncheon and goodies throughout the week
Motivational/Inspirational guest speakers (Morris Brothers, Falcon Flyers)
benches and tables in outdoor area
Playground equipment for all grade levels
Sponsor Jump Rope for Heart
Contribute to Decatur Education Foundation (Grants for DISD teachers)
STAAR testing snacks
Sno Cones
Popcorn
Financially support various school activities

💙🦅 It’s been a BUSY but GREAT week at Young Elementary! 🦅💙
We completely forgot to take pictures today 🤦♀️😂, but we were so blessed to serve our amazing Young Elementary teachers and staff a delicious lunch! Enchiladas, rice, beans, chips, salsa—the works! 🌮❤️ We hope they know how much we appreciate everything they do for our students each and every day!

Happy Labor Day, Young Elementary families! 🇺🇸💙🦅
We hope everyone is enjoying a wonderful long weekend and getting some extra time to relax and spend with family. We have a busy and exciting week ahead at Young Elementary, so be sure to check out everything happening this week!
🎉 Tuesday – Bingo with Grand Friends + Book Fair
We can’t wait to see all of our favorite Grand Friends! 💙 PTO will be selling pizza, popcorn, drinks, candy, and other concessions, so come hungry and enjoy dinner while you play Bingo and shop the Book Fair! 🍕🍿
🍎 Wednesday – Teacher Luncheon
PTO will be providing lunch for our amazing teachers and staff as a small way to say THANK YOU for everything they do for our students every day! ❤️

🍂 Calling All Vendors & Food Trucks! 🎃
Young Elementary School’s Annual Fall Festival is coming up on Thursday, October 22nd from 5:30–8:00 PM, and we are looking for local businesses, makers, vendors, and food trucks to join us!
This is a community-wide event and a great opportunity to get your business in front of local families while helping support Young Elementary PTO and our school.
🛍️ Vendors: $25 entry fee + 1 donated item for our raffle/auction
🚚 Food Trucks: $150 donation fee to participate, these funds go directly to our fundraising.
We welcome boutiques, crafts, services, home décor, local businesses, food trucks, and more!
💰 We use the money raised for things student field trip shirts, bringing in fun learning programs, providing resources to students & teachers, and supplies.

🍂🎃 Young Elementary School’s Annual Fall Festival is coming! 🎃🍂
Mark your calendars for Thursday, October 22nd from 5:30–8:00 PM and join us for a fun-filled evening at Young Elementary School!
We’ll have:

🏰 Bounce Houses
🎯 Games
🎟️ Raffle
🔨 Auction
🍬 Teachers’ Trunk or Treat
…and plenty of fall fun!
Most importantly, this event is for our ENTIRE COMMUNITY! You do not have to have a student at Young Elementary to attend. We would love to welcome families, friends, neighbors, former students, community members, and everyone who wants to come enjoy a great evening together.
Our Fall Festival is one of our favorite traditions because it brings our school and community together for a night of food, fun, laughter, and making memories. 💙🦅
