Although the era has ended, the love we all have for each other has not! I will always love and care for my DHS law students. What an honor to STILL be chosen for “Teacher Appreciation Night” even though I am no longer there with them.

As we near the end of the “Mr. Garcia era”, he wanted to give the LE students their DHS LE Program challenge coin before his last day.

The challenge coin is a representation of the student’s affiliation with the LE classes. It is a gift to remind the student to be proud of their achievements and dedication they gave to the DHS LE Program.

Mr. Garcia’s last day with DHS will be on January 24, 2025. He will be transferring to Weatherford College as the LEA Coordinator over the day and night Law Enforcement Academy.

Today Mr. Garcia spent some time passing out the DHS Challenge Coin to his students. While passing them out, a student asked Mr. Garcia to sign their coin so they could remember their time in the class with him. That started a domino effect, and all the other students lined up and waited their turn for a signature!

While signing the coins, Mr. Garcia said, “My time at DHS has been one of the most memorable of my career as a public servant. I will forever be grateful of the opportunity Decatur ISD has given me to be a part of the DHS family. I will never forget the relationships forged with the DHS students, staff and the community. We are, DECATUR!”

On 10/9/24, we were blessed to have Officer Ragle from the Jacksboro Police Department visit. She provided an overview of her daily duties and explained her “why”.

I had the pleasure of meeting Municipal Court Judge Karen Green last week in Runaway Bay.

While speaking to Judge Green, I discovered that she is a proud Alumni of DHS. I also invited the Judge to be a guest speaker for us in the near future. Can’t wait for her to come and share her story with our law students. ⚖️
