🍎Teacher Appreciation Week was last month, but with "The Mandolorian and Grogu" in theaters this month, we just had to share these incredible Star Wars-themed snacks that teacher-counselors at created for their co-workers!

And while they're fun and creative, the snacks also show how much staff at our therapeutic schools care for one another, and lift each other up. 🫶

🎼PEP's therapeutic schools provide students with a well-rounded education that honors the whole child, and includes not just academics but the arts as well. That education was in full bloom as celebrated their Spring Arts Showcase in May! 🎨

The Showcase was a celebration of the musical and visual art skill of Chesnutt's kids. The musical performances, hosted by PEP Music Teacher Nicholas Taylor, included singing, dancing, drumming, rapping, and--that grade school classic--a recorder performance that earned the class a Certificate of Participation from the National Association for Music Education! 🪈

The visual arts were also well represented, with drawings, paintings, pottery, and artwork inspired by renowned artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, all under the expert teaching of Art Teacher Maggie Moody, who encouraged students to find their creative sides.

🎓Here we go! It's graduation season! 🎓

Students and staff at kicked off PEP's graduation celebrations last week with a joyous, moving ceremony honoring 2026 grads, who embody the PEP values of joy, heart, integrity, aspiration, and courage. Each graduate received a warm tribute from a favorite teacher, with anecdotes about hard work, compassion, perseverance, and...donuts!

One grad summed it up best when he encouraged fellow students, staff, and family in attendance to "Never give up!" 💪

Mikey's Time to Shine: How PEP Empowers Kids to Find their Voice | April 8, 2026 06/02/2026

Students come to PEP because they need something different. PEP meets students where they are, ensuring their needs are met and that they have opportunities to reach their full potential.

With the right supports in place, students like Mikey are not only able to succeed in school, they are able to access opportunities that build confidence, connection, and a sense of belonging beyond the classroom.

For Mikey, that meant finding his voice and sharing it on one of the most recognized stages in Ohio.
