🎉Congratulations to Ryan for receiving the Yesha Yu Scholarship!🎉
The Yesha Yu Scholarship was established by Yesha Yu, a PV alum who wanted to give back to the community that supported her throughout her high school years. She has shared how much PV helped shape her journey, and now, as a working professional, she hopes to ensure that current students receive the same support and opportunities she once had.
We can’t think of a more deserving recipient than Ryan, who will be majoring in education at University of Wisconsin-Madison .💗 Ryan was inspired to support students in accessing equitable and inclusive education and hopes to create a safe and welcoming classroom environment for future students as an educator.

🌸Spring time is the best family time. 🌸
We held a PV Family Day at Starved Rock because apparently the best way to bond is to voluntarily hike uphill together and pretend nobody is asking, “Are we there yet?” 😅
Nothing beats spending time with family and friends in nature... plus getting your daily steps in without realizing it. 🌿👟

💗Stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ah, ah, ah. Stayin' alive💞
When working with youth, safety is always a top priority for our students and families. That’s why our Program Coordinator, Anthony, an American Heart Association Basic Life Support Instructor, helps equip parents, staff, and community members with lifesaving knowledge by teaching the importance of CPR and how to perform it confidently.

Who likes ? ✋
To celebrate the Year of the Horse, every kid in our Youth Dash (200m & 400m) gets Protech and a pack of Chinese Gem 4, since nothing motivates kids to run faster than Pokémon cards at the finish line. Our top runners also win more Pokémon goodies. Thanks to Protech and Shai Cards for supporting our youth and mission to promote equal access to education and opportunities.
Got a kid?🏃🏃♀️ Sign them up for the Youth Dash. Worst case: they get exercise and Pokémon cards. Best case: they get exercise and Pokémon cards.

🎓Senior Spotlight: Christina 🎓
PV is about to get a whole lot quieter without Christina’s singing! 🎤💙 She’s heading off to the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign , and we couldn’t be more excited for her.
Christina’s advice for younger PV students: Take pride in who you are and what you do. Face every challenge with a positive attitude and a level head. Dream big, and work hard to turn those dreams into reality. Stay organized and make sure to get things done on time!

🌟 Senior Spotlight: Marlina 🌟
We’re sad to see Marlina go 😭, but we know she’s on her way to saving lives! She’ll be attending Northwestern University , where she plans to major in Biomedical Engineering and Neuroscience.
Marlina’s advice for younger PV students:
“There may be times when you feel like you don’t fit in anywhere, or that what you’re looking for doesn’t exist yet. Create opportunities for yourself. No matter how challenging it may be, it’s incredibly rewarding to build something that is truly yours.”
